I think it sips more like an Anejo....super yummy
Aged in wine barrels and tastes like whiskey. At $50+ a bottle no thanks. Really wouldn't buy it at $20.
Very prevalent on the nose is the scent of wine from the aging process. No signs of it in the flavor because this tequila is very hot on the front of the tongue. The finish is long and a hint of wine comes back. Pair this one with some Serrano peppers and see which one is hotter. Update edit. Raised the rating on this tequila after it was opened a couple days. It really mellowed out on the heat and was quite a bit more enjoyable.
Nice even tequila. Well balanced.
