NOM 1438 original bottle Reposado. The nose has caramel, vanilla, chocolate, spice and some butterscotch. Some coffee in the taste along with the others, but has a bit of an aftertaste and a touch too much of vanilla and caramel. A decent sipper, and comes with a cool man/jaguar bottle. Not convinced that absolutely no additives are involved.

Yikes, this is not good. Strange metallic note in the nose, mingled with what seems to be heavily manipulated oak notes. The initial entry is short and bland but quickly turns bitter. The finish can't finish fast enough. But hey, the bottle and legend are cool. Too bad the juice is so wretched.

Light aroma. Very sweet flavour with a quick finish. Syrupy flavour. Sweet but in a good way.

NOM 1438 | Vanilla vanilla vanilla! Super strong and sweet scent with a smooth but strong kinda burnt initial taste with a sweet finish that leaves your mouth a tad dry.

NOM 1438 | This tasting was from a 50ml from 1438. Very sweet on the nose. Vanilla, caramel and butterscotch. The taste has a slight sweetness of vanilla and caramel, but then a bad astringent aftertaste for me. The bottle is pretty cool though.

good vanilla notes, a lot of agave flavor. love the bottle piece of artwork. I mainly bought this because of the cool bottle.

Vanilla, caramel / $16 / cool bottle

Definitely a sweet tequila. I like the caramel and vanilla aromas on the nose. Even though it is sweet, it still has a nice herbiness to it. As you continue to drink it there are spices and white pepper on the finish.

NOM 1438 | A sweet Reposado, to me a good after dinner glass. Lots of vanilla, smooth palate and a pepper finish. Not an extraordinary tequila, but 'fun'. Most non-tequila drinkers will like this as well. Found it as a DOB for $25 so I'm glad to have it in my cabinet.

Review #328 - Apocalypto Tequila Reposado

I hate to say this, but it's about what I was expecting. The overall flavor is decent, but it's definitely one that would cater to someone who would buy a bottle for a cat/man face.
