Alcohol forward with agave pepper and citrus. Overall simple and very average

Must give this tequila time to open. Overall great nose, nice on the middle tongue but finish is bitter.

Dusty and bitter

A lot of cooked agave nose, with hints of citrus zest. Mildly sweet entry, quickly turning slightly astringent and tannic, like black tea. The citrus zest develops mid-palate, and the finish is spicy black pepper and chile heat. First class stuff, beginning to end. In spite of this being overproof, the high alcohol never negatively asserts itself.

Blind rated. Some cooked agave on the nose, a clear presence of pepper and alcohol and citrus. On the palate I can almost only taste pepper and alcohol, even in the medium finish. In spite of the bargain price, I can't say I really like this one

Strong clay aroma opens and is followed by a medicinal note and a bit of sweetness/fruit. The flavor does not overpower with the typical high proof heat and spice. Those are both still there in the flavor just not with the typical high proof attack. The flavor is almost too mild and nothing really stands out. The finish is moderate.

The aroma is very earthy. Lots of wet clay, rocks but also strong raw agave notes. The flavor is not as bold as I would expect from a high proof tequila. The flavor is floral, peppery, and full of agave.

Nothing but alcohol on the nose. The flavor has light alcohol but lacks character. Long finish the only flavor is black pepper.

From a blind tasting. My least favorite so far, much more alcohol evident in the mouth from the get go. It opens up a bit after sitting 10-15 minutes and displays some creaminess along with buttery agave.

Rated blind after aeration. You definitely need to aerate this or give it time to open up, otherwise it will be fairly unpleasant. Nose: mild agave and alcohol (a big rubber smell prior to opening up). Hot with pepper and alcohol in the mouth. Very big pepper feel and the pepper flavor is almost par with the agave. Also notable acidic and mineral qualities. This can be hot going down as well if you're not careful, but it didn't burn for me. This would be good with sangrita or Cajun food. The pepper feel lasts and lasts and the flavor mellows and lingers nicely, but a little of that mineral flavor remains. Fuerte. Machismo. Makes sense as an overproof tequila. I wouldn't recommend this for margaritas or palomas—too much pepper and not enough fruit. Unless you're looking for something very peppery, you can find much more well rounded tequilas at this price point. $30 for 1L bottle at Old Town Liquor. (0.33)
