What an excellent tequila. Carmel, vanilla burnt auger butter. What an excellent palate. Sweet brown sugar, earthy clay, volcanic. Minerals. This is a winner.

Tasted in the tequila matchmaker mystery blind Little bit of furtyness on the nose good cooked Agave a little funk This one is little bitter fruity and buttery to me also not a lot of agave flavor and very little sweetness The finish is really short as well Second taste the finish was a lot longer weird sting burning

This is definitely a unique bottle. Matured entirely in oloroso sherry casks which imparted a ton of flavor on this anejo. To start, this is a spicey/dry sipper with tons of black pepper, barrel spice, cinnamon, apricot, dried fruits, berries, dates, and ample amounts of cooked agave. Loving this profile & recognize that there are not many tequilas that taste like this.

Love the Don Fulano line up but this one missed the mark for me. Maybe it's the raisin that leaves a long unpleasant taste for me and takes away from the agave to much.

The sweet sherry cask makes itself known, as does the pop from the higher proof. Fruity nose. Some raisin poking through the agave, bitter oak, and light caramel. I’m not usually a sherry cask fan but thankfully this didn’t overwhelm me. It’s generally overpriced but I got it for a good deal at a bar pour, and am happy I tried it.

I was able to try this at the tasting room bar at the distillery with Sergio Mendoza and it was a special treat! Lots of oak, caramel and raisin but the presence of agave is still there.

Nice aroma with dried fruit, baking spice and caramel. Flavor opens with smooth spice, evolves with some green pepper heat and ends with bitter almond. Nice long finish. 2023-12-24 2023 Annual Christmas Eve XA Tasting

Wow. This is incredible. So many great flavors and aromas! And yet there is still plenty of deep, dark roasted agave. I like the 44.4 abv heat in the mouth and finish. Warm and so good. Bottle 642 at Baja Betty’s.

Don fulano 20 yr Tasted a sample Sept 16, 2023 Courtesy of Greg, Lou and Seattle Juan. Muchas gracias amigos for sharing! Nose: fruit agave bown sugar cinnamon, sherry comes thru on the nose, a little minerality. Not a lot of oak, which I like. Palate: mellow sweet agave, sherry. plums and a little pepper come thru as it opens. Well-balanced. Easy sipper! Color: light; looks like a reposado. Legs: are very nice, slow and thick Finish: sherry comes thru agin. dry with a warmth that lingers.

Super balanced on the nose an in the mouth. Better with some air. Fairly mellow, given the age. Can tell it’s 44%. It’s sweet. Not too sweet. Barrel. Not too much barrel. Caramel. But not too much caramel. The genius blenders at DF have pulled out all the stops here. A tequila worthy of their remarkable 20 year history.

A bit darker than #10 this has a cheesy malolactic funk on the nose. On sipping, this has some sharp acidity and elevated ethanol levels carrying a ton of roast agave and some nice barrel notes. Medium length finish that involves the whole mouth.

I let it open up a bit before tasting. A bit light on the nose and also too dry for my liking. I'm hoping it will open up further each pour.

Nose: Dried fruits galore. Raisins, prunes, dates, figs and citron. Also fresh lime and orange citrus aromas. Candied nuts. A dusting of cinnamon. Passing hint of peat? Or smoke? mingling alongside the subtle sherry. Flavor: Plush and satiny on the palate, curiously coexisting with a burst of pepper heat. Nuts, salinity. Delicate vanilla and almond. Some tannins rest on the sides of the tongue. Fruit and agave still playing prominent roles. Take time to let the bouquet and flavors bloom. They really blossom and take on new dimension.

Honestly, on the nose, there’s definitely sherry, but also hints of pizza/Doritos. Sounds weird, but trust me. Try it, if not for the rarity, certainly for the novelty

Loved the nose on this naturally sweet sipper. The Sherry barrel definitely influenced this blended Anejo. Flavor profile was caramel, cooking spices, dried fruit and vanilla, with light agave notes. Full mouth fell. Definitely a late night sipper

This stuff is amazing, folks. If you see it, grab it. There are very few brands that can do Sherry Cask aging right, and this is one. Slightly higher alcohol means you should take it slow with this and enjoy the ride as it open up to reveal all of the complexity and layers that will emerge. A+++

Aroma: ethanol, which i really didn’t expect. Baked agave, dried red cherry, vanilla, grass, sandalwood Palate: Baked agave, black pepper, light notes of brown sugar and vanilla, dessert wine Finish: Harsh, maybe it’s the 44.4%, but still harsher than a lot of still strengths. Verdict: for a 20th anniversary, i expected something a little more refined, still has some harsh edges, but very complex
