Aroma/Taste: The nose reveals an intriguing mix of mushroom, sweet cooked agave, cola, a slight cheesy funk, and petrichor. On the palate, it introduces mint, green pepper, black pepper, and a hint of anise, creating a well-balanced and memorable flavor. Finish: The finish is medium in length, with a mint flavor that lingers, which I really enjoy. There's also a warm and sweet aftertaste that stays with you, making the experience even more pleasant. Overall: Tasted blind, this tequila has a soft mouthfeel. It's really well balanced between sweet and spicy flavors. I found it very enjoyable and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a good tequila.
Just a sample so maybe I need to sit down with it but not the profile for me. Interesting nose and palate with a tad bitter finish.
Blind TMM tasting. Nice sweet agave with a touch of green on the nose. Some agave and white pepper flavor. A bit thin on the finish. Light and easy classic blanco. Extra points for value.
I get a prevalent, pleasant olive/briny aroma, in addition to cooked agave and pepper. The flavor and finish were not complex and both left me wanting more.
Nose - olive, brine, citrus, pepper, agave (great nose). Flavor - agave, pepper, olive (light) very light finish in comparison to the aroma.
Neutral aroma with a trace of ethanol and zero agave. A bit viscous on entry, this has some bitterness in the mouth and gave me a tongue spike for the finish. Tasted blind in the 10 Blancos Blind. 2nd from the bottom for me of the 10 presented.
Nose: Cooked Agave, Honey, Fruit, Anise Mint, Cinnamon, vegetal Palate: Minerality, Citrus (rind), limestone, pepper Finish: Mango/ Stone Fruit, Herbs, Minerality, Pepper For the price, this one is spectacular. I got a lot of fruit, vegetal, and cooked agave along with some herbal and fruity notes. This is incredibly (maybe suspiciously) sweet but also full of flavor. I'd like to read up a little but more on production notes.
This one’s hard to beat considering the price tag on it! WOW
Nose: Fresh cooked agave leads the way, accented by a touch of black pepper and a subtle grassy note. It’s bright, clean, and inviting. Palate & Mouthfeel: While the mouthfeel is on the thinner side, it still coats the palate nicely. Sweet agave is front and center, complemented by hits of black pepper, anise, and a refreshing touch of peppermint. It’s a simple profile, but the agave truly shines. Finish: The finish is smooth and easy, with no harsh alcohol burn. A subtle tingle stays on the tongue, carrying a refreshing trace of pep Overall: What a spectacular value Blanco! It’s not overly complex, but sometimes simplicity and quality are exactly what you need.
I had this, several times, at a tasting. The aroma and flavor left a strong impression, with cooked agave taking the lead in both presence and intensity—it truly stood out as the quintessential defining characteristic from start to finish. While other notes made themselves known, they succumb to the cooked agave’s rich and gourmand profile. I found this Blanco to be incredibly palate worthy and look forward to having a full bottle to revisit.
I think most of us can appreciate a good value tequila. I have a couple, Suerte and Puro Potro. These are tequilas that punch above their weight class. Zumbador fits that bill too Nice nose of agave and floral. Minty. On the palate it is also a sweet agave bomb with a bit of black pepper. Finishes off nicely. Makes a good mixer or a sipper. I’d put this third in my budget class
Increased my rating after purchasing a bottle to enjoy. Fantastic blanco that’s hard to beat at this price. Packed with cooked agave sweetness, a touch of cinnamon, and a little anise. I would love a Zumbador high proof.
Zumbador Blanco sample from Bill Durnbaugh Adjusting up for value $25 at OTT Nose: at first i got vegetal citrus pepper. Then the agave and fruit came out. It kept evolving! Anise and mint came forward. It gets more complex as it opens. Palate: agave pepper minerality and anise Finish: peppery that comes back around to sweet agave and more pepper. I'm impressed! need to get a few bottles of this. Note: there seems to be a difference between lotes. I rated lote1 above. lote 3 was mich different. I didnt like lote 3 as much. hoping they'll correct this going forward.
On the nose I get a very traditional cooked agave that’s buttery and has some nice minerality white pepper and brine. There’s hints of alcohol and a faint peppery vegetal note. There’s a classic quality to it. I’m tasting several notes at once. It’s buttery cooked agave, peppers, earthy minerals and a touch of natural agave sweetness. That sweetness carries into a slightly pepper finish that pleasantly lingers. There’s some nice alcohol tingle on the palate. Overall this is a very tasty tequila and it’s coming in at a great price around 25
decent but too "spicey"
Aroma: Mellow earthiness, agave, funky minerality (23) Flavour: Grassy, agave, earthy, good mouthfeel (26) Finish: Easy, short finish, great sipper or mixer (22) Nose is better than palate in my opinion Excellent tequila at a good price, $57.99 CAD for 750ml 9 for value
Nose: Cooked agave, asparagus, jalapeño, grass, black pepper, mint, olive, mushroom Palate: Cooked agave, jalapeño, olive, grass, black pepper, mushroom
10/10 for value. $24.99 from OTT.
There’s a lot going on with this one. The nose is so interesting, lots of agave, petrichor, some cheese/lactic notes, cinnamon. The minerality jumps out at you. Lots of buttery baked agave on the palate, a little bit from alcohol, you can tell it was wood fermented. Lots of vegetal notes and some anise on the finish. It’s tough to beat the price on this one. This is right up there for me with Puro Potro in the quality/value ratio, but they have pretty different profiles. I’m surprised at how much it opens up and gives me something new to think about as I work through it, especially for the cost.
Nose: Has a nice mellow, Malic funk, slight sour aroma, pepper. In the mouth it is nice anise, cooked agave is soft with a nice little pepper shot, some mint, coats the mouth very nice. Grassy, earthy, the funk from the aroma is not present in the taste, thicker water feel. After taste subsides quickly making this a great sipper. I will have no problem sitting with a nice pour of this with a good cigar any time. The price this sells at makes this a MUST have in any true enthusiast collection. This is a sensational product.
AgaveSwapper/FuerteFanatics/ETXTC Nose: so mellow and pleasant, faint agave, nice and pleasant nose, nothing offensive Palette: a touch of minerality, nice agave, rainwater, soft, nicely balanced. Can’t believe this is sub $25. Finish: not overly long, a touch of heat, but not unpleasant at all. Really nice overall.
This tequila is great and budget friendly. It reminds me of the signature line of Arette and El Tequileno. It doesn’t have a full character when it comes to this tequila but it is good. The biggest thing that stands out to me is the vegetal notes afterwards.
A absolute steal at the price point on the palate I get cooked agave a green grass and minerality flavor that is outstanding. Sipped neat or in a cocktail you can't go wrong with this Blanco
Received a sample from the Agave Swappers Group. Aroma: I get agave, vegetal notes, maybe light mint, brine, and just a touch of alcohol. Taste: medium mouthfeel, agave, light spearmint and vegetal kick. Agave is the star and everything else really complements and enhances the flavor profile. It’s light and refreshing. Finish: short and sweet, but definitely enjoyable. Overall: wow, this stuff is INCREDIBLE value for the cost. Can’t recommend it enough.

Initial Nasal Impact: Warming. Aroma: Cooked agave, mineral, honeysuckle, tropical fruit, petrichor, brine, cut grass, pepper, sweet potato, wet leaves. Mouthfeel: Buttery with sufficient alcohol. Flavor: Tropical fruit, cooked agave, peppermint, brine, earthy, pepper, sweet potato, creamsicle. Finish: Medium with cooked agave, tropical fruit and peppermint. The retro nasal brings out the creamsicle notes which stays around on the finish. Value: Bought at Total Wine for $21.99 (nationwide mid $20's). I give this a 10 on value rating. This blows away most (all?) budget friendly brands. Balanced, complex, harmonious. Roberto Lopez is producing amazing quality tequila at an insane price point.
