While I thoroughly enjoy the Blanco, the Reposado fell a bit short for me. It’s certainly well made, but the barrel influence seems to mute the explosive agave character that made the Blanco so memorable. In its place is a more wood-forward, whiskey-like profile with pepper and citrus that I can appreciate on its own terms—but it feels like a departure, almost like an entirely different spirit rather than a progression. (I normally disregard price rating but in this instance I had to rate the price in order to get the current score)
Zumbador Repo Adjusting up for value Nose: barrel notes, agave, pepper, subtle vanilla, a little alcohol Palate: agave barrel notes. Finish: warm and peppery with some sweet vamilla on the end Nice easy sipper A little lower rating than the blanco Rated with average value because I don't know price. Will adjust id need be when i know cost.
The 12 weeks of aging in Ex-American Oak Whiskey barrels truly imparts more than I expected. This young Reposado has a very present aroma of barrel spice sitting on top of the aromas of the blanco. It’s agave, pepper and minerals. The barrel spice stands out on the palate too. I’m guessing these barrels are first fill barrels for tequila. The agave is still very present as is the minerality and the vegetal peppers. This is a tasty Reposado that’s packed with flavor. There’s even some hints of orange peel. It’s a great flavorful Reposado at an outstanding price around 30.
Nose: cooked agave, oak, bananas Flavor: cooked agave, oak, caramel, bananas, black pepper Finish: short, caramel, black pepper
Real thin flavor profile and body, almost water like. From what is experienced off a brand new bottle is some agave, slight floral, slight pepper. It’s just a cheap descent bottle of slight flavors. I’d definitely purchase again at 29$ when I find it
Light and inoffensive repo. Everything that’s supposed to be here is coming through, there’s cooked agave with some black pepper and extra sweetness from the barrel. It’s a little thin. There’s not much body or distinctive character but this is well-made at a good price.
Great value. Barrel is more subtle than expected, but there is faint oak and caramel on top of agave, floral, pepper, and mineral notes.
What a fun new tequila. Nothing too exciting on the nose. The fragrance hides itself but I pick up on some nice pepper and floral notes. This reposado hits its mark as soon as it crosses my taste buds. Very nice. Agave forward. Light oak notes. Some more spice, citrus and floral notes. And what a bargain for a quality produced tequila. Zumbador translates to “buzzed” in Google translate…why I think I will.
Zumbador repo Mellow especially compared with the blanco 40abv Aged in American oak 3 months Nose oak, bright vanilla the butterscotch cooked agave and cinnamon works great together though the agave is layered down a bit. Palate More agave on the palate interesting how's this is done. More agave on the palate same notes as the nose but less pronounced allowing for the agave to shine.
This is such a well-made tequila at such a great price. I’ve got all of the great flavors of the Blanco with a little bit of oak wood nuance.
Bit more aggressive than Blanco on the nose, subtle barrel notes and drying black pepper notes.
Aroma: (21) Agave, black pepper, vegetal, some oak, hint of vanilla but not a lot of barrel notes. Taste: (24) light repo tasted similar to their blanco. Agave black pepper, earth, vegetal, floral, light oak & vanilla. Finish: (20) quicker than the blanco, leaves agave & black pepper on the palate. Overall: (85) Bargain for $27 from Tower Liquor. a great budget Reposado! I let sit for a while came back & got citrus, tangerine.
Vanilla/maple and a hint of citrus on the nose. Agave, pepper, vanilla on the palate. Lost a point on the finish - raw agave with some vanilla. Again, great value but not rushing to buy more.
On the nose you get cooked agave, some butterscotch, vanilla, and I get like a smoked BBQ note. It all transfers to the palate. Super high in value. I paid 25 bucks for the repo.
This is a beautiful agave-forward repo with a looooong, extremely pleasant finish. It has no business being priced where it is ($30!). My god, what a tremendous value.
Mexican 40% abv. versión, lote: L750ZR0001, bottled on 08-11-2024, tasted on 1-11-25. Color: just a tad of yellow. Aroma: cooked agave with a hint of sweetness, light acidity, light citrus, hint of pepper spiciness, light orange, hint of earthiness. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, good sweet sour and citrus balance, hint of white pepper, hint of fruitiness. Finish is medium to medium long, light cooked agave, citrus, earthy with a hint of fruitiness persists.
Agave forward in the nose similar to the blanco with a beautiful and subtle rounding out finish from the barrel that compliments rather than over powers the agave flavor.

Nose: Cooked and raw agave lead the way, layered with oak and a soft caramel note. Anise shows up just enough to bring a little earthy herbal edge. Palate & Mouthfeel: Mouthfeel is thin, no getting around that. But the flavors are clean. Cooked agave comes through along with dry baking spice, oak, and a pithy citrus note. There’s a subtle earthiness underneath - almost dusty. It adds depth without making things muddy. Finish: Dry and spice forward. Clove, pepper, and oak taper off in a clean, very quick exit. Final Thoughts: This leans dry, savory, and earthy - and yeah, it’s thin. But it stays balanced and drinkable. For the price, it punches above its weight. I’ve had plenty of overpriced, overdone repos that don’t hold up this well.
