We all have our profiles and usually wine barrel aged tequila is not in my wheelhouse. This does have a nice nose. It’s very fruity has a light anise nose. The palate is very forward. I do get fruitiness and barrel notes. Anise. Good finish. If you like this type of profile then I think you will enjoy this one.

Ensueno rioja wine repo Sample from Jeff Broitman First try 2 days ago. I think my palate was off so I'm trying it again. Today it's much better. Very complex, keeps changing. Nose: barrel notes and some fruit. There's something different - peach?! I even think i got some pumpkin!? There's also a funky scent i can't identify. Perhaps it's the overwhelming scent of various fruits and barrels?!? Palate: dried fruits and barrel flavors/baking spice, some bourbon, which is interesting for a rosa. Finish is dry. viscosity is nice. Overall: It's an easy sipper with a lot of complexity. It keeps changing as it opens. Need to get a bottle of this!

Aroma: peach, cherry, plumb, spearmint, cooked agave, oak, minerality, earth. Very nice blend of fruit and earthy aromas. Flavor: oak, tobacco, leather, earth, smoke, cooked agave. Finish: lingers with some earthy notes and there’s a nice viscosity. Almost no burn. Love the color of the liquid.

Aroma: It’s like stepping into a barrel room—I love it. As I spend more time with it, rich notes of dried fruit, cooked jam, and pepper emerge. Flavor: Layers of dried fruit, cherry, and cacao come through, with tannins adding a dry finish. The red wine influence is unmistakable. Overall: Well-balanced and drinks so nicely (I’m so used to drinking high proof; it’s so subtle to me). The flavors linger beautifully—well done. I paired it with cacao chocolate, and the flavors truly came alive. I think it falls in line with the average pricing of well-made tequila these days and is competitively priced.

Beautiful color! Nose is medium intensity and complex. More bourbon-ish than most rosas but also different than most repos. Beautiful harmony on the flavor profile. Stewed fruits. Leather. Cooked agave. Herbs. Gorgeous. Really gives anejo vibes. Not light and dainty at all. Amazing sipper!

Tasted at Sip Tequila Fest Incredibly fruity aroma, all of the grapes, berries, caramelized apples, citrus rind, with cooked agave. Palate was expressive figs, plums, citrus crème, and cooked agave. Black pepper finish with light sulfer note, but not off putting. The finish has length, and is something to savor.

Aroma: This is packed with Cooked Agave, Red Currant, Raspberry Jam, and Mint right out the Barrel. Oak is prevalent on the nose. There is a Red Wine Grape presence, as should be expected. A very nice Minerality is here too. There's a touch of Nutmeg and other Barrel Spices. An unexpected touch of Eucalyptus presented itself. And after a good 20-25 minutes in the glass, a Vanilla and Caramel note joins in. Taste: The Agave is still the star! But then the fun begins!! Plum and Rasberry Jam really let you know this spent time with the leftover Wine from the Rioja Cask. You more typical grapes of Tempranillo and Garnacha of that region give these same flavors. Then add good amount of Black Pepper and Barrel Spices give some spice to the initial sweetness. There is a nice Minerality to this as well. A mix of Herbs and Eucalyptus blend together to remind you this comes from Agave. Towards the Finish, a light drying Leather flavor brings all of these flavors back to earth... And after a finishing sip at the 30 minute mark a faint touch of Vanilla and Caramel come to the party! Finish: The Finish is Medium in Length, but the Black Pepper hangs out a bit longer! Generally, I haven't been a fan of Rosa Reposados. This Batch has changed my perceptions on using Red Wine Casks.
