Aroma is smoky with oak, cinnamon, and dates. Rich flavor with charred oak and spices, yum. Long spiced finish.

AMM XA Blind Tasting: Aroma has wood/camp fire notes right up front. Lots of cooked agave, peat, black pepper and cocoa. Med-brown color. Palate had a lot of wood (French oak?) with some smoke and fire pit Mezcal hints. Some chocolate. Has a"green" funk to it especially for the color. A nice peppery, camp fire finish. This one was pretty complex. Kind of wild and a standout in a bunch of quality XA’s

Rich aromas include earthiness, smoke, clay, fruit, fresh tobacco and wood. The nose gets more magnificent as it opens up. Those aromas transfer nicely to the palate. The finish lingers with a subtle spice, begging for another sip. This is truly a lovely XA!

TMM/AMM XA Blinds Dec 2025 #10 one of the darkest in color. This one needs to really sit and open to get past the smokiness. nose: smokey (like from an earthen pit/direct flame cooking method) barrel spice. The smokiness is a bit more than I prefer. palate: once you get past the smokiness, the sweetness and barrel spice come thru with some chocolate notes that pop up towards the finish Finish: smokey sweet and dry

tasted blind with 9 other Extra Añejo of various ABV. Medium amber in color this juice leaves nice tears in the glass when swirled. Some acrid notes, burnt wood, new barrel char. Sweet on entry, yet with a ton of agave and that char. Holding it in the mouth for a minute leads to some chewiness that usually manifests in Blanco for me. Finish is a little short but overall this is nicely done.

Whoa, lots of interesting things going on here. This is a fun XA. Butter caramel, cinnamon, oak, cherry dried fruit, orange, peel, leather, tobacco, and smoke are all present in the aroma. Super complex. Dried fruit, cherry, leather and caramel are in the flavor. The finish is buttery, smoky, and leathery. This is definitely a unique extra añejo.

Definitely a fan if this brand. However, I am only familiar with the blancos. This is my first aged expression from Amatiteña. The nose is tobacco, agave, smoke, bubble gum. On the palate, sweet and smoky. Caramel and light barrel spices. Great finish with sweetness permeating the mouth. This is what I would imagine from an XA from this brand. An absolute buy for me.

I don’t usually mention the color, but this is one of the darker XAs I’ve come across. Aroma: screaming with barrel notes. Butterscotch, vanilla, beautiful notes of oak, slight cinnamon. Some lighter, more aromatic notes that are hard to place, but smell fantastic. Taste: incredibly complex. The balance is incredible. You definitely know it’s made from agave, but the barrel notes just complement it so well. I got the butterscotch and vanilla for sure. Not a ton of cinnamon, which is good for me. Finish: this is possibly my only area of concern in that the finish doesn’t last as long as I’d like, but I’m just being nitpicky. It’s great, and lasts a decently long time. I just want it to last forever. Overall: officially my new favorite XA.

Goes to show a tequila with this flavor profile CAN be made without additives. Pleasantly surprising.
