I was at a presentation last year where reps from 1414 showed a slide show of the process for making Viva Mexico. The slides included a picture of the tahona. Afterwards I mentioned that none of their current releases used a tahona. They told me it was coming. Boy, did it ever! Aromas of cooked agave, minerals, citrus, cinnamon, mint and a hint of alcohol (I just opened the bottle). Flavors of cooked agave, black pepper, citrus, brine/salt, minerals and a hint of mint. Finish is long and pleasing.
Whoa! That was good ood ood
Cooked agave with amazing mineral nose. citrus, brine and black pepper. Finish is long with cooked agave, brine, mineral and earth notes.
Los of minerality, citrus, vegetal, mint and ready notes. Nice thick mouth feel definitely worth picking up.
This is amazing!!
Viva Mexico Tahona This is the first NOM1414 tequila made using their new Tahona! It’s also released at 48% ABV - 96 proof! The higher proof delivers a nice nose with medium intensity. The cooked agave is strong and there’s a pleasant minerality along with some slight salinity. There’s also some zesty citrus, a hint of melon and some soft vegetal notes. The flavors are intensified by the proof but it’s not overly intense. The cooked agave is strong and so is the minerality that’s followed by some salinity. The citrus zest kicks in and it’s quickly followed by some zesty capsaicins. There’s a little bit of cinnamon and white pepper. Overall this is a great higher proof tahona blanco. It’s made in an artisinal way and the final product is off the highest quality.
Viva Mexico hp tahona blanco 48abv previously tried and rated 90 pts. Sept 12, 2025 trying it for a 2nd time today because I was gifted a bottle from hidden gem tequila on behalf of Sergio Vivanco 1st time i sipped from a glencairn. today I'm sipping from a chisolm jarrito Really liking this! still really liking it, and i got pretty much the same notes as i described before... Nose: agave fruit grass yeast minerality Palate: sweet cooked agave minerality some citrus, a little yeast and a pepper kick. If u let it sit long enough, you'll also get anise. Finish: sweet and also vegetal, mild heat that accelerates as it lingers. Doesn't drink like high proof. easy sipper
Beautiful nose. Sweet agave, cake batter, floral, vanilla, honey dew On the palate, this is sweet agave, floral, vanilla, melon, berries. Finish is wonderful. This is an excellent tequila.
Really amazing blanco, totally different flavor profile from the Viva regular blanco. Cook agave, citrus, minerals, great finish. Winner
Tried at Sabor y Cultura. Masterful combo of juicy agave, citrus, and minerality.
It’s so good. Viva Mexico Blanco but even better
I think this might be my favorite expression of the Viva Mexico lineup, with the Madera being a close second. Tons of agave, citrus, minerality and brininess with a very long finish that liners for a while. So good, so complex, excellent sipper. This is Sergio Cruz at house finest.
Nice agave , mineral nose and taste. 96 proof so hitting nice. I do enjoy it!
Good juice here. Agave, Spice, Perfect heat. We'll done
Complex flavors. Beautiful tequila. Would buy again and again

This is outstanding Thick mouth feel followed by a melon note along with the Cooked Agave sweetness. This tequila lingers on the palate a home run for NOM 1414
Bottle: VMTBC02574, 233435, 12/05/25, 13:14 Appearance: Clear Initial thoughts… Nose: Citrus, honey, herbal Palate: Mint, cooked agave, brine/salinity Finish: Black pepper, raw agave, minerality Final review pending…
Sweet caramelized cooked agave dominates the flavor, plus nice minerality, with hints of fruit, citrus, and grass, plus a little cinnamon finish. Very well done by Viva Mexico! Easily one of my top high proofs
The nose is really muted, but you get faint scents of earthy, mineral, herbal, and mint. In the palate, a lot of flavors jump at you! Strong cooked agave, followed by pepper, citrus, mineral, grassy, and earthy! Great mouth feel, medium-long finish! Definitely worth picking up 2!
In a different league from the rest of the viva Mexico line up. A perfectly made tahona. Delicious.
Tasted at Sabor y Cultura in Chicago from a Chisholm Trail Jarrito. This was an incredible minerally and Agave forward pour! I am so looking forward to getting a bottle upon release!
This was so good I went back for more at Sabor y Cultura Chicago. So fresh and flavorful with tons of agave. There is also pepper, citrus, minerals, earth and some lime. Love that it is a high proof and first Tahona from Viva Mexico. Nicely done Sergio!

Absolutely amazing, blew me away. It has a real punch to it. I also love the Madera equally, but they are totally different.
