Aroma is agave and heavy black pepper. Minerality comes out the longer it sits. More Pepper and agave in the sip with mild but quite present vegetal notes. The finish is expectedly spicy with a bit sharper veg note of green bell pepper. Thank you Matt and Agave Swappers for this sample.
Sample provided by Agave Swappers and the GOAT Keith Bogart Aromas: textbook 1414 nose. All the great minerality, Cooked agave sweetness, pepper, floral Pallet: it matches! Classic 1414 flavor. 54% goes down easy. Minerality, cooked agave, pepper, sugar, so much flavor, Final thoughts: this is my favorite cultura 100 expression to date. It’s all the goodness from Sergio Cruz that you want. It hits all the notes! I’m excited to buy a bottle of this one! Feels like a big next step for this new brand.
Nice clean agave nose but subtle and doesn’t nose like a HP, very easy to nose. Immediate warmth on the palate and creamy. Nice long pepper finish that tells you this is a HP. The finish goes on for a while. I like it. Sample provided by Agave Swappers for review
Sample received from Agave Swappers Nose: Minerality shows up immediately, dry and stony, followed closely by cooked agave. There’s a clear vegetal note that keeps things fresh, with cooling mint and a bright citrus presence. Ethanol is noticeable but doesn’t dominate, sitting alongside the aromas rather than blowing them out. Palate & Mouthfeel: The texture is on the lighter side, reading slightly watery but still cohesive. Sweet agave leads, quickly joined by mineral notes and citrus that tighten into lime. Mint carries through from the nose, and a restrained chili pepper heat builds gradually, adding contrast without taking over. Finish: Pepper hangs on through the finish, joined by a saline sweetness that comes across as saltwater taffy. It tapers cleanly, leaving a savory impression rather than lingering heat. Final Thoughts: Stellar for the value. This is a strong high-proof showing that delivers clarity, agave presence, and character without excess. A great HP that knows exactly what it is.
Sample generously provided by Keith Bogart and Matt Cavanaugh. I warmed up the palate with Siembra Azul Blanco batch 14 (one of my favorites). Wanted to keep the 1414 family in mind as I tried the new kid on the block. Nose: Enticing floral notes with minerals, agave and anise on the first attempt. Mint notes and lime rind on the second nosing. Pleasant! A hint of vanilla too. Interesting. Palate: Juicy agave with a full mouth feel. Some very light black pepper with a nice splash of minerals. Not too punchy for an HP but very flavorful. First sip enjoyable, as was the second. Finish: Surprised how easy it is to sip! Agave lingers on the tongue and pepper softy faints on the gums. I hear the price is more than reasonable, especially for an HP. I will purchase my own bottle, or 2. Delicious.
Nose is minerals, agave, medicinal ethanol from the 54% ABV as well as some aromatics from the spontaneous fermentation. After sitting for some minutes a nice mint aroma developed. Light viscosity lead to some thin tears in my Glencairn. This has a nice fullness in the mouth after the initial ethanol spike. Roast agave, natural sweetness that fades to that mint note from the aroma with an healthy tongue buzz finish. Thanks to Agave Swappers for the provided sample and in particular Matt Cavanaugh for reaching out to gauge my interest.
2nd try... Cultura 100 hp blanco Sipping from a Mexican thick glencairne type glass I let it sit 20-30 mins Nose at first i get minerality, citrus and some vegetal notes, then fruity kicks in. On the palate i'm getting sweet agave mint dried fruit anise citrus some minerality black pepper and a nice long spicey finish It keeps evolving as it opens Definitely let this one sit to open. Very good! Even got raspberries on finish this time! Wow! Chocolate raspberry pepper. 1st try... Cultura 100 hp blanco 54abv Sipping from hp jarrito glass Neck pour Let sit 30 min Nose: vegetal pepper citrus alcohol. When it opened, I got some dried fruit Palate: I got minerality, mint, agave, anise, green pepper and black pepper Finish: anise!!! nice heat and fizz I'm really enjoying this!
Nose is bright agave, grassy notes, minerality, citrus, very nice, Pallet is bright sweet agave right up front, great mouth feel, nice pepper note, long finish, creamy cotton candy, bubble gum, very sweet juice, also has an interesting drying affect in the mouth I haven't noticed much before, overall very nice sipper
This one means a lot to me. The proof is perfect! lol Great nose so many notes agave, citrus, very floral and a lot of minerals. Finish is perfect long sweet anise one of my favorite finishes!
This is a bottle of tequila that personifies the meaning of ABV influence, a term I use in my Fuerte Fanatic rating scale. So how you might ask…. I have tried this tequila at almost every ABV between 40 and 54 - which this landed on. The difference in nose and palate at these ABVs was very pronounced. If this would have been bottled at the 52 ABV my score would not be this high. Additionally, a higher ABV isn’t always the trick to better tequila. In fact, my contention is that there is the right ABV for a tequila and finding it is what makes a huge difference. This tequila on the nose is agave forward, bold citrus, earthy with minerality. It has what I love most in a tequila profile. Even though this is 54ABV, very little alcohol on the nose. On the palate, sweet agave. Not overly sweet but a balanced sweet. The citrus comes through in both orange and lime. It has that light earthy taste that I enjoy. A touch of minerality and a hint of pepper. The mouthfeel is quite pleasant and the finish is balanced and lasting. The price on this tequila is very nice for the product you are getting. Definitely a top HP for me. I’m loving this one. A sizable step up from their standard blanco. Great job Cultura 100!
Nose: Sweet agave upfront with a slight malolactic funk, herbal notes, and a touch of olive brine. Palate: A burst of cinnamon leads, backed by sweet agave and layered baking spices. Subtle cheesy notes come through — in a good way. If you know, you know. Finish: Long and assertive. The higher proof lingers and tingles, with cinnamon hanging on. A fantastic, affordable high proof I’ll return to again and again Sample provided via Agave Swappers Facebook Group. If you haven't joined your missing out!
Aromas de agave, minerales, manzanas verdes, humo, pimienta Sabores de agave, minerales, menta, cítrico
Great High Proof Blanco at a great price. Agave punch with a bit of a bite, but mellow out to be very enjoyable, 1414 Sergio Cruz DNA all over this. Sample provided from Matt and Keith from Agave Swappers.
Received via Agave Swappers Juice is bold and agave-forward, with big notes of pepper, citrus, and earthy sweetness. The 101 proof amps up the flavor with a long lasting finish, giving it a rich mouthfeel Perfect for sipping if you like intensity, for me it’s even better in cocktails where the tequila really shines.
Receive a sample from Agave Swappers. Really good agave punch just a bit much for my palate. Little to no alcohol smell on the nose, if I just gave it to you to try wouldn’t know it was high proof until you tried when I really enjoyed. Typically I’m more of an aged sipper, but this a good sip & I’m glad I got to try it. Better sip than quite a few hi-proofs I’ve had & have in my bar
I received this as a sample from Keith Bogart amd Matt Cavanaugh at Agave Swappers. I had tasted the reposado, so going in I already had high expectations for the high proof blanco. Even with elevated expectations I was pleasantly surprised by how flavorful and delicious this tequila is. Sergio Cruz at NOM1414 and the group of tasters who helped blend this offering absolutely knocked it out of the park! I will order a full bottle right now! 92/100 - With a 5 for value. $52.99 at OTT seems about normal to me.
Sergio..Compa..Que Riquizimo!! Nose- agave , hint of spearmint , minerals..you get that 1414 nose they are known for Pallet - Burst of minerals, mint, cooled agave , herbaceous, earthy with a sweet brine and spicy punch that lingers medium spice with a kiss of sweet agave wave all up on your taste buds. Thank you Keith Bogart @Agave Swappers for this one. Definitely a balanced tequila .
Nose straight out of 1414. Minerals with a burst of cooked agave right away. I get a great citrus lime some pepper and alcohol a bit of vrine. Nice balance on this HP Mouthfeel medium to oily good On the palate more cooked agave lime pepper and well balanced alcohol Toich of mint cinnamon Finish pretty long with pepper alcohol brine Good hang time Very nice balance of flavors with a high proof that drinks well
Sample via Agave Swappers Nose: sweet cooked agave, minerals, mildly floral, and a hint of black pepper at the end. Taste: tons of cooked agave, black pepper, minerals, creamy full body Finish: black pepper and peppermint Overall: Tons of cooked agave and minerality. I always have a hard time describing the creamy mouth feel and sweetness I get from some tequilas, but it's reminiscent of the G4 108 with a bit less pepper. Bonus points for value, as it looks to be coming in below most HP offerings and definitely stands up to them.
great nose! sweet cooked agave, citrus, minerals and some brine. palate confirms the nose with a spike of prickly heat. good viscosity. easily my favorite from cultural 100 so far. much thanks to Agave Swappers and Keith Bogart for the sample. I definitely recommend this for a bottle in the low $50s range.
Agave forward nose and taste with a great finish.
This High Proof Blanco starts with slow cooking Estate Grown Agaves for a total of 54 hours in Stone/BrickOvens. 30 hours of actual cooking a d 24 hours of cooling. Once cooked, the Agave is Macerated with Roller Mills making 4 passes through, with Deep Well Water being added. It is then Fermented in Stainless Steel Tanks with Wild Yeasts for a total of 144 hours. Once fermented, it is then twice distilled in Copper Pot Stills where only the Hearts are kept. The final 54abv Tequila is then rested in Stainless Tanks for stabilization before bottling. Aroma: Immediately the smacking of Rich Cooked Agave begins! Along with the Agave, a powering amount of Citrus, Minerality, and Cinnamon. A nice Herbal mix of Mint and Thyme presents itself. There is also a combination of Apple, Pear, and Tropical Fruits. As this continues to open up more finesse driven notes of Sweet Honey and a combination of Honeysuckle and other Floral notes. Taste: As the Aroma smacks woth Rich Cooked Agave, the Taste does as well! The Minerality definitely sticks out as does the Lime/Grapefruit Citrus notes. There is an abundance of Spicy Cinnamon and Black Pepper. Because of the Proof point, there is a very nice Creamy mouthfeel. An Herbal combination of Light Anise, Mint, and Rosemary blend with a light Earthiness. As you become acclimated, Fruuiy and Floral touches add a needed softness. Finish: This has a very long Spicy and Agave run. AMM--90 Salud!!!
Definitely smell the cooked Agave on the nose. The agave definitely leads when tasting with a nice sweet peppery finish. I really enjoyed it overall.
Received a sample from Agave Swappers. Aroma: tons of cooked agave, citrus, and brine. Not nearly as much heat as you would expect from a 54% ABV. I also got some strong vegetal notes. It has a great balance of aromas. Taste: DAMN this is good. It’s very oily and viscous, which to me is a hallmark of a good HP. It sips like a much lower ABV (in a great way). There is a great minerality to this that really balances everything out. Finish: it sticks around for quite a while. It has a strong kick of pepper and heat that is quite tasty. Overall: this is an absolute winner from start to finish. This was a sample, but I’ll for sure be picking up a bottle or two first chance I get.

CULTURA 100 Blanco 45%ABV Samples provided by Agave Swappers Matt Cavanaugh and Christine Hansen Barchasch. Nose: Alcohol is the first thing rising from the chimney of the glass then cooked agave and white pepper notes with some citrus. In all honesty for me the ABV is hiding a lot of the prominent aroma I normally get, they are there but it has to open up for 30 to 45 minutes before it really comes out of hiding! Taste: the palate, sweet cooked agave. Not overly sweet but a balanced sweet, reminiscent of tasting the cooked agave pieces you get at the distillery. The citrus comes through but is very light. It has an earthy and slight herbal note with a touch of white pepper. The mouthfeel is quite pleasant and the tequila seems to coat palate with a nice warming heat. This changes quite a bit as it sits and opens up. Finish: The finish is balanced and has a long finish.
