Sampled at Binnys All Things Agave. Nice aroma and flavors, a little funky but nothing like the OG no.9 Joven.

There’s some dried grass, some funky agave, some citrus and a bunch of earth on the aroma. After it opens up for a while, a whole bunch of cinnamon comes out, which is nice. There’s a lot of agave in the flavor though, and it’s pretty thick and coating in the mouth. A nice blend of cooked agave and vanilla on the tongue and in the finish as it fades. The finish on this is my favorite part.

On the palate, honey, vanilla, pepper, cinnamon, and coconut offer a rich contrast to that initial tang. The finish is even sweeter and smoother, with a creamy feel and lingering baking spice and cinnamon.

This 100% agave joven has it all. It’s composed of 59% Blanco, 13% of a 10-month Reposado, 26% of a 17-month Añejo, and 2% of a 38-month XA. It’s bottled at 40%ABV - 80 proof. The nose is layered with ripened red fruits over cooked agave with hints of raw honey. Some oak tannins punch through. They are dry and slightly musty. The nose has a light perfume-like quality. I taste the baked agave, with caramel notes, along with unfiltered honey. The barrel spices are dry, slightly tannic, and peppery. It has a medium body. Overall it’s a well-balanced tequila with a layered aroma and a nice mix of sweet agave and pleasant barrel spices that are slightly dry.

Batch# J7250. Buttery agave aroma with honey and citrus. This is a nice blend and you get a little bit of everything. Some pepper, agave, vanilla, caramel, with a bit of honey and creamy butterscotch.

Well, I realize that it’s been lightly rested in a barrel, It has a little too much sweetness and vanilla on the nose and the taste. A good overall offering, but not what I’d expect.

Upfront I get a caramel butterscotch flavor. Overhaul it’s ok tequila but the bitter finish is throwing me off.. Sample from Agave Swapper.

This is a fantastic tequila! Aromas of cooked agave w/ sweetness of honey, caramel & dried fruit, spices of cinnamon & coriander & very slight oak. Similar flavors w/ very mild black pepper. Very enjoyable Joven experience.

I get straight butterscotch on this. Super super good.

Sweet, butterscotch flavor. Not the kind of complex tequila that I love but very good

Received a sample from agave swappers. Aroma: primarily agave, citrus zest, and cherry. Maybe some light oak notes. Taste: very light and nuanced. The balance between agave and barrel notes is great. I get lots of cooked agave, light citrus notes, barrel notes, and a nice peppery kick. Finish: short, but tasty.

Aroma is subtle and complex with notes of cooked agave, butterscotch and vanilla. Flavor starts with cooked agave sweetness, butter, raw agave and black olives. Finish is light with sweet notes of cooked agave, cake batter and caramel.

Very smooth. Hints of spice and cinnamon. Light agave flavor with a very smooth and sweet finish.
