“I would never recommend this bottle to a tequila purists only because it is aged 8 years in bourbon barrels and I think that adds a flavor that is in no way authentic to how a tequila should taste. Having said that, this is one of my favorite bottles of tequila. I am mainly a whiskey drinker so to me, this bottle is intriguing because I can really taste the notes on the palate that are so commonly found in bourbons. I recently just bought my second bottle and have noticed one big difference between my new bottle and the original and that is the finish. My first bottle had this delightful chocolate chip cookie finish that lingered. It was the biggest surprise I’ve ever had from a finish and was completely unexpected from a tequila. The bottle I just purchased still has warm chocolate and caramelized sugar flavor, but the baking spices aren’t as apparent. I’m sure there are variations in the bourbon barrels that are used and I believe that using the bourbons from various barrels could impact the flavors of each batch. Regardless, maybe it was just the neck pour so I’ll have to see as the bottle oxidizes over time. And for all the haters calling this an additive filled flavor bomb, maybe it is a bit, but bourbons tend to be pretty sweet with vanilla, chocolate and caramel flavors so I wouldn’t necessarily jump to that conclusion. ”
