A nice Reposado from this NOM. Similar to others coming from this distillery. Balance of alcohol and slightly aged agave.

Given the pedigree (123, El Luchador, Los Alamos, Don Abraham - all outstanding tequilas), i had high expectations for this juice. It just simply fell a little flat. It was too sweet for my palate. It smelled sweet and tasted sweet. I had to search for agave. Overpowering brown sugar. I love 1480 and what The Montez’ do there. This one just didn’t blow me away.

Nose is soft and sweet with hints is agave and vanilla. Light straw-color in the glass. Creamy / silky mouthfeel. A bit peppery on the palate with more “bite” than the Blanco. Some agave, strong black pepper, leather and tobacco tones. Finish is tingly, long and dry.

The notes of baking spices and dry fruits definitely sat well on the entry then a kick of citrus and black pepper the end left me wanting more.
