Tasted at Sip Tequila Fest This high proof out of Atanasio brought the funk. I was all about it! Cooked agave, malolactic notes, cheese, dirt, herbal notes, and citrus. I tasted this alongside the base blanco, and although they shared similar notes, the Fuerte was far more intense & well defined.
Excellent, unique, refined
Nose: cooked agave /tiny bit of smoke/ earth alcohol/ slight pepper/ pineapple/ citrus / lemongrass Taste: cooked agave /sweet / pepper / pineapple/ orange/ alcohol / Finish.: bright and clean - tiniest bit of mint and lingering sweetness and pepper The slight smokiness is the hint of this expression using more classic and ancestral techniques to create this delicious higher proof blanco. Great taste with some sweet and spicy finishing notes. This tequila has a taste that is memorable and can bring you back to the experience of your first taste to enjoy it every time.
Nice nose with beautiful agave that follows through into the palate and a long pepper finish. This was tasty.
I have lived this one from the very first taste. I recently rated this blind in a Fuerte Friday challenge and it too the round. I find the nose on this one unique with cooked agave and a light malolactic aroma. It has vegetal notes along with a minerality. It is herbal with a touch of alcohol on the nose Taste wise I pick up cooked agave with citrus. It is herbal and earthy. I get black pepper and a bit of mint. The ABV works to greatly enhance the flavors and does what you want a high proof to do. I highly recommend this one.
This has so much more flavor than their regular Blanco with a nice mix of vegetal and citrus and pepper and minerals. Definitely recommend.
Nose: Minerality, Agave, Black Pepper, Mint and Very subtle lactic qualities to it. Mouthfeel: Quite light bodied, and delicate. Palate/Finish: I get black pepper and minerality and back again to the mint possibly a touch of fennel or anise as well.
I recently had this and the one with fibers at the distillery. I think they are both delicious. It has really bright citrusy notes and nice earthy sweetness. I’m going to try them again side by side to compare. Overall a really nice blanco.
Awesome nose and flavor! On tongue agave, baking spice, bright citrus/herbs, very beautiful flavor, nothing off, very well balanced blanco, easy sipper every day
I have the limited edition bottle with 10% fermented with fibers that I bought at the distillery. Wow! This has it all. Rich, buttery mouthfeel, sweet cooked agave, pepper, citrus, lite anise, and just a touch of that 1599 funk! Hard to tell this is 46 ABV so be careful! The finish starts with some quickly fading heat followed by freshly cooked agave taste lingering.
I love this funky product. For me it's a 92 for this one aa well as the 10% (fibers version) made for Mexico only
I don’t have anything snappy to say, this is amazing, but it if you find it.
Nov 18, 2022 tasted at distillery. such an amazing tour. good tequilas! I'm told u can only get this in Mexico so we purchased a couple bottles from the distillery to bring home
Light heat, sweet agave, balanced. Finishes nicely
Bottle #107 Lote 2/21 Nose: Sweaty, cheesy. Herbal: thyme, marjoram, oregano. Mint, cucumber and trace minerals. Sweet agave. Flavor: Honey like sweetness/texture attack, with equal measure of white pepper heat. Cinnamon and cloves contribute to the pop of pepper heat. The Mezcal like lactic note mellows somewhat on the palate - but still in the forefront. A vague umami cracker flavor : sesame or caraway? Finish: Cinnamon red hot candy and feisty pepper on the fadeaway, riding on a silky sweet agave wave.
Wow!!! This reminds me of Mezcal in aroma. That blue cheese aroma. Sounds weird but it’s the aroma I got. Earthy taste and peppery finish.
Moderate viscosity carries a ton of flavor in this Espirítu Fuerte. Agave on the nose, agave on the palate and a long lingering finish with a fading natural roast agave sweetness make this an exceptional sip. I've said this once before regarding Criollo that products like this are like drinking distilled liquid agave with a great balance of heat, sweet, ethanol and pepper.
Fibras y Fuego Nose: Inviting aromas of cooked agave lead the way, grounded by notes of wet stone and earth, with a touch of coastal salinity. A subtle lactic note adds depth and a rustic charm, while hints of black pepper round out the nose with a gentle spice. Palate & Mouthfeel: The mouthfeel is medium-thin in the best possible way - light on the tongue yet still coating. A burst of sweet agave is immediately met by bright, fresh jalapeño pepper. The spice builds in layers, never overpowering but offering a complex, thoughtful experience. A hint of citrus adds a fresh, zesty lift to the vegetal tones and raw agave character, enhanced by the texture of agave fibers that bring earthy authenticity. Finish: The spice continues gracefully into the finish, maintaining presence without aggression. Despite the bold flavors, the finish is surprisingly clean and exceptionally smooth, leaving a lingering warmth.
Nose: cooked agave, minerals, lactic, lemon Taste: cooked agave, cooked agave, cooked agave, earthy, less lactic than nose. Great oily mouthfeel Finish: more of the same. Great blanco! Everything you want, nothing you don’t. Not hit for a high proof. Just more flavor.
Sabor muy perceptible de agave crudo, herbal con un poco de pimienta al final, ligero dulzor con toque de agave cocido; se sienten los grados de alcohol más no irrita garganta.
Nose: deep agave aromas, hints of vanilla, caramel, and light wood. Palate: smooth, balanced flavor with rich agave, mild sweetness, and a touch of wood. Finish is long, smooth, and slightly warm, leaving a pleasant, lingering aftertaste.
Batch AOF/724 Fibras & Fuego Nose: cooked agave, earth, minerals, citrus/fruity, vegetal Flavor: cooked agave, pepper, earth, vegetal, minerals Finish: lingering sweetness, pepper, and earthy tones Love that the cooked agave is so present on the nose and flavor. I wouldn’t say there’s smoke but definitely an earthy flavor. Love this batch.
A delicate highproof with a lot of cooked agave smell and flavor. The mouth feel is soft and viscous.
Aor 124 bottle 6 Nose is vegetal , spice , some citrus. Mouth feel is clean bright, pepper heat , nice finish that lingers with heat. Nice sipper. I’d like it hot this is for you! 46abv 92 proof flavor bomb

Tried this at a high-proof tasting. Aroma of cooked agave, vegetal, minerals, citrus and mint. Flavor of cooked agave, a blast of black pepper, citrus and vegetal. Medium-long finish and no extra kick from the 46% abv.
