A great complex anejo with a depth of aromas and flavors. A very easy sipping anejo with no burn at all. Nose: cooked agave, vanilla, oak, caramel, butter, and cherry. Palate: cooked agave, vanilla, oak, black pepper, caramel, cinnamon, chocolate, butter, and cherry. While there is an abundance of complexity here, the finish is very short and leaves me wanting more. Still a great anejo that is easy to sip but loses some points mainly for value. Also my bottle lists NOM 1499.
I must admit I have not been the biggest Mijenta fan. This is a great tequila. The nose is unique with this champagne yeast. So sweet on the nose with agave and floral notes. I am getting vanilla and caramel at a luscious level. The taste is just as exciting. There is a bit of alcohol presence but the sweetness shines through. Plenty of caramel and vanilla.
Nose: fine champagne or wine / fruity / vanilla: plum-grape/ green apple / pear / mint / cream soda Taste: agave sweet and apple - huge sweetness with fruitiness overflowing/ apple / grape / plum / vanilla/ black pepper/ mint/ maple and chocolate Finish: So many different flavors creating an orchestra of flavor that has sweet champagne and chocolate as the melody. Beautiful mouthfeel that lingers with that chocolate and mint harmony. Encore!!!! Summary: Wow. The sweetness and champagne chocolate notes won’t work for everyone’s palate, but if there was ever a dessert tequila, this is it.
A lot of sweet that falls in a hit of alcohol and then flat nothing.
Very complex with barrel and strong fruit notes. Very good.
Really pleasant heavy oak derived sweetness, picking up on the cherry wood used in the aging process. Very clean.
Tried a sample. Nice barrel nose with pepper on finish. Easy palate but not a lot going on. Price needs to be less for this one.
Notes on the nose were overwhelming dominated by ethanol. The profile was ok with hints of oak, pepper, but very little cooked agave present. The issue was the finish was defined by an ethanol burn. Even after airing it out a while not much changed. It was not terrible however at $170 I can’t justify recommending this. The majority of the influencers promoting this spend more time talking about it being women owned etc etc than the actual juice. But I’m the end I always suggest people make up their own minds. I may revisit and give it another try in a few weeks.
MJ/ANE/HV/001/23 Initial nasal impact is warming. Aroma: Cooked agave, caramel, cherry, prune, oak Buttery mouthfeel with sufficient alcohol. Flavor: Cherry and prune, cooked agave, caramel, baking spice, wood notes. Finish: Medium (wish it was longer because I really like this). A couple points off for finish and price
march 25, 2023 tried at pnw agave club event at mission cantina in seattle. nom 1412. only a few of us got to try about 1/2 oz each. I liked it but it was difficult to do it justice with such a small pour, and I didn't write down my notes. would have rated higher but points off for price
Loved the taste of this at a local event. I was one of half a dozen that were treated to about half ounce each. Enough to get the taste and not enough to really savor. Price of around $200 US holds this back but the melange of barrels has a well done and not overbearing influence on the aging of this spirit. This was the only NOM 1412 product available, the Reposado and Blanco were from 1499.
Overall solid. Aroma is nice. Too much oak, lacking agave flavor. Finish is good. Points deducted for the price point.
Liked everything about this Anejo except the price. Give it a point more for being limited
Great expression… deducted points because of high price
Lost some points for price. But wow, mijenta does it again. Nose- agave, vanilla, pitted fruit, little floral, pepper Taste- agave up front lots of vanilla, butter scotch, little oak, floralness, small hint of smokiness pepper. Very nice anjeo
Wow, the color is just gorgeous – a deep gold with these copper glints that practically jump out of the glass. You can tell it's been aged beautifully. Sniffing it, I get this really nice aroma. Definitely cacao nibs, but then there's this sweet butterscotch thing going on, mixed with cooked agave and a touch of tobacco. It's a really interesting mix. Taking a sip, it's so smooth, almost velvety. The flavors are all over the place in the best way. I taste dried fruit, warm spices, and then, surprisingly, a bit of coffee. Seriously delicious.
Really good añejo ! very sweet cooked agave . vanilla ,oak , a little in between the chocolate and citrus. very light in the alcohol recommend as a dessert sip. would love this to be on a higher proof . alittle expensive as well. but also no other añejo compares ln this, bold sip
on the nose I get vanilla, brown sugar and agave. On the tongue it's agave, vanilla, a little baking spice, a little orange with a really nice creaminess. Nice longish finish on the backend with the flavors marrying a little more. a really nice sipper. One of the better añejos I've had. Points off for being slightly on the more expensive side, but for a readily available bottle for a special occasion this is tough to beat.
Balanced oak and and agave flavor. Light in the mouth. Very little ethanol burn after taste
Nose is cooked agave, vanilla, oak and caramel. Taste is cooked agave, oak, pepper and chocolate. Glass was a Glencairn.
Good with some butterscotch notes.
One of the better añejos I’ve tried. Not a fan of the price, but I’m a fan of the flavor
Aroma:- oak and agave with hint of butter Taste- oak & agave with some vanilla & caramel very well balanced for an Anejo Finish: left palate too soon very smooth Overall- Mijenta produces exceptional tequila. After enjoying their Maestra Selection, I had higher expectations for their Anejo.
Smooth

Plenty of heat and pepper. I kinda like a bold Añejo!
