Didn’t care for this one. Decent nose of some pepper and sweetness. Medicinal taste with hints of bubble gum. Fancy bottle but that’s about it for me.

Lots of smoke, some sweetness and pepper in the flavor. Lots of agave aroma. Smooth and smoky finish.

The nose is striking - some brine and vegetal notes but there’s something strong in there that I cannot place (and don’t care for). Creamy mouthfeel. Sweet agave, pepper and anise. Finish is clean but a bit antiseptic.

LOTE16BPA, tasted on 2-5-24. Aroma: raw agave, grassy, herbaceous, strong minerality/light metallic aroma, after 15 minutes the agave becomes sweeter. After 30 minutes in the glass it becomes more aromatic. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, the mineral/metallic sensation is quite intense at the beginning but softens, a hint of black pepper, hint of earthiness, green vegetal notes. Finish is medium to medium long, raw agave, green vegetal with herbaceous notes persist.

If not for the $80 price I would give this blanco a true 99. I had the opportunity to visit many distilleries over the past decade and a half and I always look to see agave size. If you want to really understand the brand you are buying all you really need to do is study their harvest. Huge agave = very high sugar content, usually to the tune of 35-40+ Brix. When agave is truly ripe it has a deliciously sweet taste out of the oven that translates beautifully into the end result. This blanco is the result of just that. Bravo Don Eladio & Don Alvaro ! This is tequila is nothing less than a masterpiece.
