Having our first snow of the year, I decided to pour something wintery. The nose on this screams Christmas. Cinnamon, ginger, brown sugar, browned caramel baking spices. On the palate, the barrel really overtakes it. I can pull out all of the flavors that I smell but I am left with a bitter taste after the initial pleasant notes. I like this maybe a little better than the few other reviews I have read but be careful as this is not standard tequila.

First time trying a amburana aged expression Aroma is extremely aromatic and just transports you to Fall/Winter. Felt I was walking to a Pier 1 imports store during Xmas season when I was younger. Cinnamon, ginger, anise and wood/oak create a powerful scent. No agave detected. On flavor, same as the aroma just more potent. I Can see this profile working later in the year (fall/winter) as it has those heavy notes. Agave once again was overpowered by the wood, but it’s a good experimental profile that brings a lot of spiced up complexity.

This is not my favorite- I taste no agave- smells and taste like cleaning supplies.

Batch No. not filled in, but acquired on April 2023. Color: yellow. Aroma: applewood, eight star anise, minty, 40 minutes later in the glass, the above aromas are softened and I can smell a light sweet agave note. Palate: initially the eight star anise flavor/aroma is quite intense and lingers, cooked agave, minty, light wood & vanilla notes. Finish is medium to long, the eight star anise note lingers.
