The aroma is a sharp caramel with alcohol in the background. Its not agave, its alcohol. The flavor adds some cinnamon to the caramel and brings some lip tingle/numbness. This also has an oily mouthfeel. The finish brings some pepper and mild alcohol chest burn. Not as poorly constructed as their blanco but still odd and not recommended.
Honey, vanilla, oak and agave on the nose. Opens up with some floral notes and some baking spices. There’s definitely a little agave on the palate but the oak and vanilla overshadow it. A little bit of earthiness, and a bitterness that isn’t bad at all, just there. Some cinnamon. This would be very good but it’s a little thin and the finish is relatively short. Still, for $40 at Total Wine, this really isn’t half bad. I can’t really detect additives, and if they’re in there, they aren’t pulling the most weight. I may snag a full size bottle of this in the future, it’s a very easy, mellow sipper.
Odd flavor and finish.
Pleasing nose of agave, earth and barrel spice. Nice mouth feel with some viscosity and the nose carries over to the taste with some added spice from alcohol and agave pepper. Some fading sweetness that turns to light bitter oak and tannic notes plus some alcohol.
