Tezon repo NOM 1111 Sample from Mark Czerwonka I'm not sure what to make of this one! At first, the nose was pleasant like OG tequila, with some green apple, some sour notes, like partly fermented fruit, and mild notes of cinnamon. As it sat and opened, I got caramel and vanilla notes. The green apple is still there. Palate was completely different than the nose. I'm not sure what I was tasting. Some citrus and sour notes, maybe the green apple again, with a hint of an herb = coriander?! This sample was from the old NOM so its possible something may have started to go awry with this because I was getting some really good stuff along with some unexpected notes/flavors, making this a bit of a challenge to rate.
Bottle: No. A74822 Appearance: Medium hay Nose: Oak, vanilla, cedar, barrel spice, whiskey, baking spice, leather, apple, citrus, orange, flowers, orange blossom, roasted nuts, clove, cinnamon, minerality, butter, wet cement, alcohol, black pepper, and cooked agave…simple and inviting Palate: Toasted oak, roasted nuts, vanilla, citrus, orange, caramel, barrel spice, black pepper, flowers, clove, cinnamon, orange blossom, whiskey, black pepper, cooked agave, cedar, toffee, banana, minerality, alcohol, and cooked agave…not overly complex, enjoyable Finish: Medium-length, warming, and oaky…easy, enjoyable, unremarkable ending Overall: The packaging was beautiful, but the bottle was old and dusty when I found it on the shelf. The plastic wrapper around the topper disintegrated as I opened the bottle, as did the cork. After some careful filtration, I was able to salvage the bottle.
This is the original NOM 1111. Not the crap. Sweet nose of La gave and light barrel. The palate is also sweet agave with light barrel spices. Cinnamon, caramel and cinnamon. Nice tequila but not available any longer out of this NOM
