“How this tequila is rated so low by the panel is beyond me. Perhaps its the addition of agave that they deem sacrilege. It has a great profile with a slight vegetal backbone to satisfy the purists while giving an appetizing palate of sweetness and flavor from the virgin oak that it rested upon. A good value and versatile super premium that can be sipped or mixed.”

“If you asked me to rate DJ 1942 from 6+yrs ago, you would get a tequila that exhibited some of the best balance between slight vegetal and matured caramel sweetness...plus a rating 10pts higher. But for now, it is above average with much better competition in the arena.”

“A solid tequila that is pleasant to sip. It expresses some vegetal notes with an overlay of caramel, burnt sugar and molasses. ”

“Too unrefined. this harkens back to the days of when tequila was feared by tip-toeing into a flavor profile of "shoot it down" rather than "sip and sit down''”

“A very good tequila in and of itself, but for half the price. ”

“Only it's price lowers it's rating. This is an amazing tequila. Should you have the wherewithal and ability to purchase this with no dent to your overall finances, do it. ”

“What many (should) consider as the "bottom of the premium" barrel. Mix this tequila. Always.”

“Among the smoothest and sweetest of any reposado. When a sweet finish is in order, this tequila out-classes(pardon the pun) most añejos and about any reposado.”

“one of the best values in the tequila world based on its originality and flavor. The fact that its around $50 makes it a near perfect addition to one's bar.”
