Chamucos Extra Añejo
“So happy I picked this up. Easy sipping extra anejo with a dark side that really lingers on for quite some time after each sip.”

Tears of Llorona Extra Añejo
“What a fine tequila, my god. The opposite ends of the spectrum from the different barrels used on top of the base tequila that is just rich enough with so much agave still shining through. German Gonzalez truly is the Pappy Van Winkle of tequila.”

“Straight up buttered popcorn on the nose. This is wild. Love how unique this is. ”

Blowfish Tequila Extra Añejo
“The most complex of all the products. Again, agave comes through beautifully while still allowing a wonderfully deep richness to shine through as an extra anejo should. Price is this biggest killer on this one. I can certainly say I’ve had anejo’s that have the same profile at a much lower price.”

Blowfish Tequila Añejo
“Agave shines through wonderfully on this one. Sweetness is dialed back and the oak + spice is so welcomed. Nothing too hot though, this is all so under control. Very nice notes of chocolate with this one.”

Blowfish Tequila Reposado
“Going to rate this one for what it is. The sweetest of the four products; pleasantly sweet, not syrupy and too intense. A strong marshmallow and vanilla presence on the palate. I can see why a lot of people would enjoy this one for the price and the popular sweet style it has.”

Blowfish Tequila Blanco
“A classic, crisp, clean blanco. Floral, agave forward, light vanilla, not too sweet, very nice.”

Joel Richard Extra Añejo Tequila
“Vanilla, buttered toast, cassia bark, citrus zest on the nose. Great agave, bright vanilla, balanced richness on the palate. Finish lingers on for a while with the most faint and subtle notes of smoke. Excellent extra anejo. After tasting the Joel Richards Petals, I knew this one would be wonderful. Happy to have this in my collection.”

Gran Agave Ghost Edition Reposado
“I’m sorry, but w-h-a-t. Nose? Booze. Palate? Heat. Finish? Heat. That’s all this is. Light agave and faint rich notes that just hide behind a ridiculous amount of burn. I’d be lying if I said this wasn’t awful.”

Herencia Mexicana Reposado
“A wonderful middle ground repo. Maintains so much of its younger, earthy/vegetal self while picking up some great pepper and spice as well as soft oaky richness. Love this.”

Herencia Mexicana Blanco
“Despite using agave high in sugar, the flavor profile is very much old fashioned. Very earthy, vegetal, herbal. Agave is dominant. Any vanilla is very floral and easy going. Any sweetness is very welcomed. Excellent blanco.”

Juegos Mexicanos Tequila Extra Añejo
“Deep and rich, not too sweet. 5 years in a hybrid French/American oak barrel to impart some great flavor as well as forward baking spice. Much more prevalent earthiness. ”

Tonala #4 Extra Añejo
“Sherry cask imparts a great red fruit profile to this tequila. A forward maple flavor that is present throughout. Great from the start, but also benefits from opening up over 30-45 minutes.”

Imperio Del Don Extra Añejo
“For ten years in the barrel, this has great balance. Agave isn’t lost in all the time spent resting on oak. A forward caramel flavor profile that isn’t too rich at all, that type of mellow richness that makes this so smooth. Easy sipper, great price for the age statement.”

Mijenta Tequila Blanco
“A brighter blanco and I enjoyed it. Very floral, great citrus and agave balance, but just a tad bit too much vanilla going on. Still very enjoyable as it wasn’t a rich vanilla, very floral and earthy instead.”

Tonala Añejo
“Definitely disappointed with this one. A bottle can be good when flavors mesh together well, but this was just bland. Mellow, soft, no spice, no flavors shining through. However, this type of mellow could be good for someone trying to get in to anejo’s.”

El Tequileño Reposado Rare
“Poured for me by the master distiller himself! The concept behind this creates a wonderful reposado. The larger barrel leading to less contact with wood helps calm down the oak and spice. Still plenty of soft, easy, mellow caramel and vanilla. The agave still shines through with the not-so-dominant flavors imparted by the barrel. An amazing balance for a truly amazing sipping reposado.”
