“Revisited the Blanco several times, and also tried the Barrancas alongside the Origen. I just couldn’t get past a burnt mesquite note that runs very prominent throughout. It’s nothing like what you’d find on a mezcal — it read as artificial to me, though I’m not claiming it is. That note is a deal breaker for me. Setting it aside, there’s a pleasant sweet-and-savory character underneath.”
