“Single barrel pick. Aged 3 months. Nose is slate, mineral, cooked agave, light cinnamon. The nose is a little hot on alcohol. Palate is a burst of agave flavor, mineral, slightly herbaceous, green pepper and citrus; then the barrel rounds out the edges with a touch of caramel that goes hand in hand with cooked agave sweetness. Beautiful reposado expression in the sense that the barrel flavor is light, and the aging melds the flavors together rather than imparting tons of barrel character. Finish is long and complex owing to the high proof. A top-notch representation of el pandillo goodness. ”

“This is a beautiful añejo at an excellent price that tequila lovers and whiskey drinkers will both appreciate. The añejo honors the agave (and la pulga has a distinctive earthy, funky flavor note in their tequilas) but brings nice caramel and cinnamon barrel character that rounds out the edges. 10/10 on value, this is a go-to aged product for less than $75 in my market. Will edit with more tasting notes. ”

“The aroma is absolutely incredible, can’t stop going back to it. Agave-forward with a bright and fresh burst of minerality and lime zest. Some herbal notes emerge over time (hard to pick which herbs) as well as green bell pepper. Palate is a touch more reserved than nose, but it’s pure el pandillo - agave, mineral, vegetal, a touch spicy. Id love to see a higher proof alternative down the road. Great finish. Well worth $49 in Texas. ”

“Amazing aroma, tons of mineral and slate, cooked agave, herbal (mint?). I love that mineral on the nose! After drinking I pick up some green pepper notes, slight lime zest on the nose as well. Palate starts very vegetal and earthy, green pepper and green jalapeño, followed by minerality and agave sweetness. The agave sweetness ticks up a bit as the pour opens up. Finish is long, warm, and sweet. Absolutely delicious. ”

“Amazing repo. Don Fulano’s base tequila is earthy and herbaceous, and that shines through here, but with some smoothed edges. The French oak is light but adds a distinct caramel note. If you enjoy the Don Fulano blanco, you will love this - it keeps the same flavor structure intact with a touch more sweetness and time for flavors to meld. ”

“I get a very floral aroma, green pepper, cooked agave trails behind. On the palate, agave is more pronounced, with white pepper, vanilla, and a bit of celery. The barrel character (vanilla, oak) is light, but the barrel has transformed the taste of the agave to be more rounded, the flavors and aromas have gelled - which I suppose is the goal of the repo. Finish is medium and mouthfeel is delightful. I tried side by side with g4 repo and there is a particular El Pandillo quality to it, but the flavor is certainly distinct. Happy to try this one! Price is right, not a bargain but not overpriced for the quality. ”

“Initial impression was total sweet bomb - not unpleasant, but the nose had a dominant toasted marshmallow aroma at first. Sipping over an hour it opened up quite a bit. Cooked agave, citrus, some sweet earthiness akin to roasted root vegetable, notable minerality on the palate brings balance. High proof concentrates flavor but does not taste boozy to me. Like others, I purchased this for around $50 and think it’s incredible value. It’s a unique counterpoint to the herbal and vegetal blancos that currently dominate my shelf. Cheers! ”
