Cascahuín Destino
“Had this in a CTC high proof jarrito. Visually bright and clear, with beautiful legs on the glass. Aroma, true to Cascahuin, agave with pepper and minerals up front, a bit of a smoke, along with citrus, wet grass that has been cut and earthy. The palate is very similar to the nose. It has a minty finish, almost as if you were chewing on a spearmint gum. To me, the biggest thing with this tequila is the price, since it is what makes it not very accesible, but definitely a treat… ”

Ocho Tequila Añejo
“La Mula 2021. CTC Jarrito glass. Light straw appearance despite this being an añejo. On the nose, sweet, bright agave with light oak, light caramel, and citrus, with some pepper and minerality. On the palate, agave up front with caramel, vanilla, hint of oak. Citrus and sweet agave finish, medium, not very long. This is an anejo that does not forget it is a tequila. ”

Aroma with a sweet cooked agave followed by a clementine orange and lemon citrusy aroma, some alcohol, grass and minerals with some pepper. On the palate, sweet agave and citrus up front, with some pepper, little jalapeño bite and a finish that is minerally, floral and citrusy. Overall, a little bit hot and a little thin, but enjoyable.”

El Ateo Blanco Still Strength
“Tasted in a high proof CTC glass. Clear and bright in the glass. Nose with a bright cook agave upfront, the kind that just makes you smile. It’s got minerality, cinnamon, pepper, grapefruit and lemon. Palate with that bright agave, pepper, cinnamon, some brine to it, with minerals to it. It’s a short finish, but it’s is sweet cinnamon in the back. Overall, like it’s called, it’s a big bang. ”

Aroma with sweet , cooked agave and cinnamon, with minerality and pepper, citrus elements as well as an underlying herbal sense and petrichor . The palate hits you with the same nose and you can taste that Michoacán agave brix with slight salinity. It’s got a medium finish, with a minty sensation as if you just had a fresh mint. It does have some heat and a little bit of alcohol, but it does not hide the flavor. It is a masterpiece of a high proof blanco, that made it last as long as it did on my shelf because of how great this is.”

Aroma that does evolve in your glass with an underlying agave, caramel and vanilla that intensifies the longer it sits in your glass, as well as wood, and butterscotch. Palate with characteristics, that becomes better with each sip, giving you the sensation of a warming dessert. The finish doesn’t last long, but it does come with mostly caramel and vanilla and the wood. Overall, great value as this has been aged for 7 years which the agave plants that this came from took a long time to make it to the bottle. ”

Yéyo Reposado Agave Vice 89
“Tasted in a CTC jarrito. Beautiful amber color in the glass, dark for a reposado. On the nose the baking spices with caramel, cinnamon, vanilla, with dark cherry present. On the palate, very pleasant mouthfeel; with intense baking spices, tropical fruits, caramel. A finish with the dark cherry and caramel, that as you drink more of this, just becomes more intense. This is definitely a treat, a dessert of a tequila that even though you may have to order it online, the experience is worth it.”
