Very good XA! Nice fruity nose with a little oak. Let this sit in your mouth before swallowing to enjoy the rich flavors. Thank you Cristina for the sample size bottle received at Sabor y Cultura Chicago.

This was a treat of a pour. Elegant, rich, and still very much agave forward despite the extended aging. On the nose, it opens with a deep, rich cooked agave aroma that’s impressive for an XA. Caramel and vanilla come in smooth and warm, layered with oak, cinnamon, and a touch of baking spice. There’s a comforting, almost dessert like quality to it without being overly sweet. Just really well balanced. On the palate, the cooked agave is still front and center, which I really appreciate in an extra anejo. Caramel and vanilla are prominent, adding sweetness and roundness, while black pepper and cinnamon bring some nice warmth. The oak influence is present but not overpowering, and there’s a soft honey note that adds depth. Baking spice lingers on the finish, tying everything together beautifully. This one feels refined and thoughtfully aged. It never gets too woody or syrupy, and the agave holds its ground the whole way through. It’s a standout XA that knows how to show its age without losing its soul.

Excellent XA. Excellent blend of American and French oak. Price results in lower score.

7 years in the making. So proud of this incredible brand. Chad and Cristina are some of the most involved, hardworking, and kind owners I’ve seen in the industry. This XA spent 7 years in barrels. That’s a long time to store something without any return and losing product with each year that passes. They were kind enough to give me a sample of it and I love it. Such a testament to their partnership with Felipe. I’m sure this will carry a strong MSRP but if it’s in your budget and you want something special that only had 1200 bottles or so, this is for you. Congrats guys

Like everything that Volans puts out, this is exceptional! Obviously at seven years in a barrel there is a pretty heavy wood influence, however, it’s well balanced with plenty of sweet cooked agave presence. On the nose I get oak, baking spices, cinnamon and some burnt caramel. The palette has noticeable wet wood characteristics, honey, black pepper with the unforgettable 1579 dna. This is a special treat. Let it open up in your glass and revisit several times. Congrats, Volans team on another home run!

Got a deal on 1oz pour at the Volans tasting event! Nose: deep cooked agave with caramel and vanilla inviting your nose in. Some oak and spice. Definitely one of the best smelling tequilas I’ve smelt. Even after finishing the 1oz pour in the glass I was sniffing the glass and smelling many different things. Palate/mouthfeel: silky and rich, agave was leading the way with butterscotch, pepper, and honey Finish: Warm and medium-long finish. I was getting so many flavors some agave, burnt caramel, and some oak as well Many people are likely discouraged by the price but I would say it is worth it. This is a treat! They put a lot of hard work into this and know what they’re doing. Was an honor to be able to sip this with Cristina during the Volans tasting event

If you can stomach the price tag, this is one of the most exquisite bottles of tequila ever produced. It takes an already near perfect XA and doubles down on the barrel influence. An absolute masterpiece.

6 Years in American Oak Barrels and one Year Finished in French oak 42.3% ABV stabilized in stainless steel tanks for 6 months. This a very special bottle, last of some of the old lots from el Pandillo back when we started the brand back in 2016- 2017 we are extremely proud and there’s only 1,234 bottles total. labels and boxes were hand made, in collaboration with our very talented friend Eduardo Mejia. It has so many beautiful details, is perfect for an avid collector of rare bottles. 10/10 good! Price reflects the hard work to make such small and unique Volans Tequila limited edition.

Man this is delicious just wish the cost wasn’t so high. Agave is still there, barrel notes are sweet oak vanilla and caramel /brown sugar. Light pepper finish
