One of the best Single Barrel Anejos. Nose: Chocolate, and cooked agave with some vanilla. Excellent sipper! Wish I bought more of this one.

If you’re expecting a big agave bomb, this probably isn’t going to be your thing. The stout barrel is front and center. But if you judge it for what it is instead of what you think it should be, it’s fantastic. First thing I got was chocolate and roasted coffee with just enough agave sweetness to remind you it’s still tequila. It’s rich, dessert-like, and almost dangerously easy to drink. I could honestly see someone putting away half a bottle before they even realized it. I know bottles like this get people asking, “Is it still tequila?” Fair question. All I know is it’s delicious. The barrel finish adds a ton without completely burying the spirit underneath. It sold out in about 90 minutes, and after finally trying it, I’d say it deserves the hype. It’s one of the more unique pours I’ve had in a long time, and I’d happily grab another bottle if I came across one.

Wow, what a surprise chocalate stout on nose and first taste. Then her come the agave and that long lingering finish. This could be addicting!

Tried this in Chicago at Sabor y Cultura. Important Note: don’t pass on this just because you think you don’t like stout influence. This release is a nod to the stout influence but not overpowering. Nose is delicious, palate is rich and deep with chocolate all day long. Super nice sipper. Finish is lingering in the best way.
