This is a true XA and harder to find now. So much going on. Agave, mocha, cherry, figs, blood orange, leather, butterscotch, etc. I usually find it for under 60. Must have for any legit Tequilero.
Like this blanco, nice mouth feel, sweet peppery cooked agave. Nice balance
Nose of whiskey, caramel, vanilla, roasted nuts and some alcohol. Taste of caramel, spice, roasted nuts and vanilla. Very nice.
Older clown nose bottle but still vibrant. Quite whiskey forward, today this would be an XA and has aromas of barrel spice, caramel and agave. The bourbon notes on the nose are very apparent on sipping. Short finish holds this back a bit for me.
Citrus and agave on the nose and some nice viscosity on entry. A bit of agave sweetness that is overwhelmed initially by a big peppery alcohol burst which fades to reveal that same sweetness as a nice finish develops. Bottle is around 10 years old maybe? and was unopened. Tastes very fresh. Tequila keeps well in glass for many years when properly sealed and stored.
Aroma of agave and citrus with a bit of a medicinal undertone. Spicy pepper flavor with a hint of sweetness (vanilla, nutmeg??). Short finish.

Stone fruit ripens alongside an earthy foundation, giving the profile depth and harmony. Finish: The finish unfolds long and warm, leaving behind a sweet trail that reflects the barrel influence while remaining well balanced and smooth. Final Thoughts: Though labeled as an Añejo, this is actually a true XA (aged 3 years), offering remarkable complexity and value. It leans into the sweeter, whiskey inspired barrel notes without losing the agave’s essence. A beautifully nuanced pour that I genuinely appreciate.
