This is the Mexico version at 35% ABV. Aroma of cooked agave, cut grass, citrus. Flavor of cooked agave, black pepper, minerals, citrus and brine. Medium finish.
Very thin but nice, surprising for a celebrity tequila and a nice bottle. It does have a bitter finish which takes away some points.
Yes, a different style of blanco. I think “refined” and “polished”, as a good many of the strong notes of a blanco were softened. What came through loud and clear was the white pepper finish - a pleasing “slow burn” that lingered on and on. My only issue is that the smoothing left a bit of a taste gap in the mid-palate. I would’ve loved a bit more zing but all in all a very fine stylistic expression without undue additives to alter the taste profile.
