No way this is 53% Good job
Very unexpected nose. A lot of sweetness. Fruit, cherry? Very easy to nose for being a HP and really enjoyable to nose. Sweet palate that has some lingering heat on the finish. Drinks nothing like a 53%. I get a lot of bourbon vibes out of this. Very easy to drink and tasty.
AMM Blind Tasting: Nose of dark chocolate, clove, cinnamon and caramel. Not overly complex but pleasant. This is super dark brown. Palate has wet wood, caramel, a little mushroom funk to it. A decent amount of heat. A fine finish, seems likely high abv?
AMM Blind. Deep bold aroma with some black cherry. Flavor adds sharp oak, but not in a dry way. Long spiced and woody finish.
This is a decent XA especially for the price. I felt its a bit heavy on the oak which killed some complexity
Caramel, oak, sweetness, flowers and a hint of leather on the nose. The palate is similar to the aromas, but I also taste lots of cinnamon, alcohol and some bitterness. Spicy, long-lasting finish.
TMM/AMM XA Blinds Dec 2025 #7 one of the darkest in color nose: bread/yeast, barrel spice, caramel, vanilla, alcohol palate: sweet vanilla, oak, barrel spice and something I cant define Finish: dry, sweet
tasted blind with 9 other Extra Añejo of various ABV. Bright copper color in the bottle and glass, the oiliness makes this shimmer as light passes through. Aromatic nose with sharp ethanol notes, oak, agave. Very pungent taste, some acidity and oak with agave behind all that barrel. Finish has an oak bitterness and citrus peel? Citrus oil? I can’t decide. In any case, quite the mouthful.

Aroma: 22/25 Undeniable strong barrel characteristics. It is like a sweet cognac aged in a blanco tequila barrel. The raisin and grape combo pulls this into cognac territory for me instead of whiskey. Very pleasant. Palate: 27/30 Nice hefty mouth feel. Warming baking spices with barrel character up front which nicely melds into a nice cooked agave mid palate. Some mild heat on the tongue in the mid palate but doesn’t take away from the experience. Finish: 23/25 A lasting and pleasant finish with some mouthfeel spice and mild warming. I like that it doesn’t dry my mouth out. Saves me from needing to drink water and savory the finish longer than normal. Value: 9/10 $90 at Costco. I’ve never seen a 50%+ extra anejo and this one is a pleasure to experience.
