Sampled at Binny’s All Things Agave, June 2026. Glad I got to try this one, it’s legit. Not terribly complex, but an extreme value for a clean tahona crushed still strength agave profile for $49.99 by me. I’d be happy to see this widely available on bar shelves so I can have some better cocktails made when at non-agave bars.
Aroma: 22/25 Sweet caramelized agave up front with an earthy, vegetal backbone. Dense and thick on the nose, almost syrupy. Cooked agave sweetness mingles with damp soil and roasted vegetables. Palate: 25/30 Medium-bodied with a noticeable spicy kick. Black pepper dominates, with a peppery bite that builds through the mid-palate. Less sweet than the nose suggests, more savory and assertive. Finish: 21/25 Value: 8/10 Overall: A solid pour from Patron’s new 100 Silver. The nose promises richness and the palate delivers heat and structure. Not a sipper that hides behind sweetness. Would buy again.
The nose is weak or neutral. It has some decent flavors though it’s not agave forward. A decent high proof for $50.
Impressed by this Patron release. Didn't expect that. Nice minerality, citrus, lime, pear. And enough agave to convince anybody it's legit. Nose matches palate nicely. A bit on the thin side, but a great Blanco at a great price. I found it a bit better than Lalo. which i found decent. At least I know every mediocre bar will carry this. So it works for me.
High-proof, tahona-crushed blancos are my lane, and this one can definitely hang. Bright citrus up front, that classic clean Patrón profile, plus some minerality and a cool chalky/coco powder thing going on that I actually really liked. A nice medium finish with some salinity. Overall, this is well done and feels like a smart move by Patron to bring some aficionados back in after killing off the Roca line. For around $50 it’s really good value and I’d definitely drink it again.
