“Batch 2 picks up exactly where batch 1 left off. The DNA is there, that herbal jungle juice funk is there, but batch 2 comes across as more refined, a tad sweeter and way more fruity. Melon, citrus, cucumber are some notes I pick up, then it opens up into that sweet juicy agave that Humberto’s “autoclave/horno” can produce. I personally think batch 2 is better than batch 1”

“The best of the Rosa series. The blend of Rosa and Bourbon is a wonderful pairing. ”

“There is something very OFF with this release, maybe the bottle I received was tainted, but after poking around I’ve seen that others have had similar things to say. I wanted this to be awesome, however there is such a raw/green agave note on the palate that makes this abrasive and almost undrinkable. Then we can’t look past the pricing on this one, for $185 you have to absolutely bring it. Just by association you’re now in the: Fuenteseca Cosecha territory. $125 is my cap for blancos TYPICALLY but I’ll go higher if needed. I know opinions are all subjective just like palates, but this one was a huge miss for me, I’m not going to sugar coat it or pull a punch. ”

“Thick and creamy! This is all about texture and minerality. Could give some bigger tequilas a run for the money in a blind. Not the most complex tasting, but scores huge points for me on mouthfeel and finish as well as pricing. This needs to go national! Only drawback for me is trying to find it! ”

“Big time Ocho fan and big time Old Fitzgerald fan! Love this one and think it’s a great bottle for fans of both. Ocho to me is always very delicate with barrel aging, this one follows that format but also stands out. ”

“Super Cazcanes! Hint of smoke, tastes like cooked agave straight from his “autoclave” home made ovens! Juicy, mineral rich, bright, citrusy, has an almost effervescent tingling sensation on the finish that just keeps going. $110 for a small batch distillado, produced in the middle of nowhere, you’re grabbing a piece of authenticity at a solid price for such a special edition bottle. Am I slightly biased because I’ve been to the still site and got to meet Don Humberto and see it first hand? Sure, I suppose so. Say what you will about Cazcanes, but this is a special bottle and to see it go from a dream to reality and knowing that there’s a man/agave farmer/tequilero who made this become a product that people around the world can enjoy is special.”

“I for one was SHOCKED! I scored this sample the highest of any samples and once learning what it was and how it’s made, we may be in for “Blanco of the Year” once it lands stateside in 2025! This was my score from the HP/SS blind panel tasting. Crazy points given out, mostly value! We have a Brick Oven Cooked, Tahona Crushed, 92 proof, $65 AGAVE nuke! Dare I say Fortaleza SS has a rival right now?! I will resample/score once I track down a bottle of this, however here’s how it did in the blind! ”
