Vegetal and pepper on the nose. Palate is fine. Nothing to rave about but a decent sipper

NOM 1412 Nose: I get some cooked agave, vegetal, black pepper, citrus, minerals with a hint of cinnamon. Flavor: Cooked Agave stands out, with some citrus, vegetal, pepper, mint, minerals, cinnamon and little alcohol. Finsh: it's a nice easy clean tasting blanco, not complex at all, very light viscosity, with a short finish. Enjoyable. ****AMM blind panel tasting

AAM Blind - A well balanced blanco that presents with an intense nose of cooked agave and nutty/spice (almond, vanilla and butterscotch), adding some pepper and jalapeño with a hint of orange blossom. From there, an elegant flavor emerges that (for my taste) is a bit on the sweet side (to wit, vanilla) around a core of black pepper and agave - all in nice balance. A smooth mouth feel finish still lingers as I pen these notes - a definite sipper!

Conditions: room temp, Glencairn, sitting for an hour Appearance: silvery-white, languorous legs against glass portending alcohol, sugar and possibly viscous mouthfeel Aroma: medium yet pronounced raw and cooked agave, bright lime citrus and melon fruits, Asian pear, white pepper, wet cement. A later approach brought some spearmint and pickle brine along for what may prove to be a great agave taste voyage…… Taste: initial sip: beautiful balance of cooked agave sweetness, black pepper, pear, baking spice and herbal tones. Less citrus on the palate than from the aroma but as it sits and warms, a briny oily texture comes through that hits my “jam center” with oh so pleasing savory layers. The finish is wonderfully long and spice laden. The aroma was foretelling on this one as it’s a layered expression that keeps unfolding with every sip. The spectrum reminds me of highlands agave and if I were to close my eyes and be truly blind, this pour could pass for a repo. This expression hits all the right buttons for the aficionado seeking a contemplative flavor bomb.

This is a Blind Tasting. The first impression of the nose is that it’s agave-forward, with an earthy “funk” to it. I smell the alcohol, but also notes of pepper and minerals. The taste adds a saltiness and more agave & pepper. There is a long finish that descends into sort of an olive aftertaste.

Tequila Corrido Reposado is a rich, artfully-crafted single-barrel tequila

Late last year I had the pleasure of sampling Corrido Cristalino, and I was a huge fan of the tequila's complex flavor, writing that it is "nearly as perfect a blanco as you can get." When I was given the opportunity to taste the new Corrido single-barrel

Corrido is a formidable new kid on the tequila block

During the time of U.S. Prohibition, the Corrido, a musical form of Mexican folklore, often honored the tequilero, or tequila smugglers, who gained popularity along the border. The "smugglers" of Corrido tequila are hoping for a similar popularity.
