From a sample given to me by a friend. Nose: Reminiscent of the older El Tesoro aged tequilas (from around the same time) due either to barrels used and/or long time glass resting, agave, flowers, a sweetness that reminds me of the Don Julio 1942 I had, but natural and better. Palate: similar notes from aroma, minerals, alcohol. Finish: long, peppery, slightly spicy (peppery). I prefer tequila around 46% alcohol. I often find it difficult to enjoy tequila at 50%+, but this is very much enjoyable, at 54.5% and doesn't immediately come across as a tequila with such a high ABV.

Strange grassiness

Powerful barrel proof product that really shows the raw strength of undiluted tequila. Aged for over 18 months in played out barrels this is something to be slowly savored.

Aroma of caramel and banana. Presents an immediate blast of heat/spice across the tongue. Lets you know right away this is high proof. But, that fire subsides nicely into sweet flavors of caramel, vanilla and fruit. Tastes like a dessert set on fire. As Grover says, some just don't like the high proof tequilas but this is definitely one to try.

Nice treat!

This is high octane stuff, so it may be too rough for many. But take a sip, experience the ride and just wait for the finish, which is really long and pleasant. The payoff with this tequila is the creamy and soothing finish that keeps on going.

Flavorful, but really hot on the palate, which makes it a bit too rough.
