Vessel: Glencairn glass Nose: agave, oak, butter, butterscotch cinnamon, baking spices Palate: vanilla, oak, cinnamon, toffee, dried fruit, barrel notes Finish: toffee, butter, agave, barrel spice I tried this number 9 Anejo and the number 9 XA tonight in the same evening. In comparison, this one seems to hit the sweet spot on the barrel notes for me. This is a win!

NOM 1599 | NOM 1599 Agave forward Anejo with an excellent balance of cooked agave and barrel notes.

NOM 1614 | Quite viscous in the mouth, this has a ton of agave, barrel spice and that 50% ABV to knock your tongue around some as this passes over. Quite nice.

Cazcanes no 9 anejo (this is the OTT sib; I didn't know where to rate it) Nose is amazing, sweet cooked agave, caramel, vanilla, barrel notes. Empty glass has mild anise Palate is very good. Sweet cooked agave, caramel, vanilla, barrel notes, whiskey Finish is nice, long and warm. Now this is in my wheelhouse of profiles.
