Pricey! Having said that, this is a really good expression with layers of complexities from the barrels, the ABV, blending of multiple expression etc....
Bottle 844 For my 99th and 100th reviews on here I had to rate some special ones, and this may be the most special of them all. After absolutely loving the heritage blanco I was incredibly excited for this to arrive and had very high expectations. Needless to say those expectations have been more than met. I compared both blind and unblind against the heritage blanco and this one. Just an incredibly complex and special tequila. The aroma is sweet barrel notes with a hint of ethyl and various fruits like apples, pears, and of course, grapes. On the Palette they carry over but there’s of course plenty of agave and that lovely 1123 peppery finish. There’s nothing not to love here except for its limited status and high price. But I’m more than content that I bought a few off the website before it sold out. This will be a special occasion tequila only.
Bottle No. 0781
Amazing nose, cooked agave, vanilla and caramel, I can see a crème brûlée type flavor, mineral, earthy, barrel influence, cinnamon, light pepper. Amazing expression, from a great distillery and very involved owner! Must buy if you have a chance!
Banger after banger from this brand. Just superb.
Montagave has been on fire lately, So many great releases including this new Joven. Highly recommend this one but only set back is the price. Another home run from NOM 1123.
Montagave Joven 45.5 abv NOM:1123 Release: 2025 Bottle No. 228 Nose: Cooked Agave Wet Cement Black Pepper Fruity Mint Grapes Dried Fruit Butterscotch Cinnamon Petrichor Taste: Cooked Agave Fruity Mint Cinnamon Sipping: Very bright, oily mouthfeel that fades quickly. Clean, minty. Refreshing cinnamon. Not hot. Complex.
Received a sample from Agave Swappers Aroma: mostly skipping this because I didn’t have the right glass. Definitely picked up agave, minerals, and some light grassy notes. Taste: great balance between the agave, minerals, and barrel notes. The star of the show was the spice. This has a really strong kick of pepper that I really enjoyed. Finish: this one stuck around for a while. Overall: I recommend it!
NOSE: raw agave. very vegetal, a touch of floral, citrus & black pepper tint bit of honey PALATE: raw agave, vegetal, honey, very slight cocoa. FINISH: alcohol, medium finish
Another home run for Montagave. Agave forward nose and silky smooth with long clean finish. Really loved this one.

This one is solid at every level with a lot of complexity. The aroma is nearly overwhelming with cooked agave surrounded by fruit (apple, pear and grape), brine that leans toward pickle, and raw nuts (almond, cashew). There is also something very distinctive that my nose is not experienced enough to name. The flavor is also a nicely integrated blend of sweet, cooked agave, fruits, spices and hot pepper. All those flavors sustain for a medium-long finish. This is a really good one. Tasting quite a few jovens today and this is the best by far. 2026-04-18
