El Tequileño "Sassenach Select" Reposado

“First, how is this a Reposado? It is aged 2 years and 4 months. 2 years in American oak and 4 months in French oak. A little weak on the aroma, heavy agave with a lot of spice and then finishes beautifully but there is a hint of additive on that finish. I might buy again but there are so many good choices for less money. 1146 and Don Fulano come to mind as a less expensive option. Still I am enjoying it.”

Tears of Llorona Extra Añejo

“I genuinely love this Tequila even though it's not my Numero Uno. Because it has been aged in three different barrels the complexity is amazing. Coming from NOM 1146 you expect a good starting product and the aging process only made it more interesting. A little pricey because a nice bottle of Don Fulano or 1146 gives you just as good a Tequila at a far lower price but with less complexity. So the question is, are all those extra nuances worth it to you. For me? No. But I'm glad I have a bottle to enjoy.”

“This is my all time favorite and only score it 97 because I have never given anything in life a perfect score. This is genuinely a slow sipping slice of heaven. Señor Orendain has crafted a barrel strength Tequila for the ages. It is additive free and it's Carmel overtones occupy the majority of my taste buds with a heavy Agave character and a taste of honey. I would choose an evening sipping this over anything that wasn't a night of wild passion with Heather Graham. if you can get some, do not miss out.”

Tres Culturas Añejo

“if you see my rating below you'll see that at one point I found this to be a quality drink. I personally rated it at 89 points. It is no longer the same luquor. I recently bought a case again after my local retailer had been out for awhile. Tres Culturas has taken a turn for the worse. Way worse. I went through two bottles using it to make mixed drinks and couldn't stand it even in a drink. It tasted like cleaning fluid. I took the rest back and will NEVER BUY IT AGAIN. This is likely the best value Tequila on the market today. I buy the Añejo at $18 and have never felt like I have compromised when I am sipping it.”
