this tequila us really good. we went thru several bottles a few yrs ago. overall sweet but not artificial with a bit of oak but not an oak bomb. well balanced

Lot 70 of 122. An amazing nose and taste. Nice fruit with some heat, caramel, vanilla, apricot/fruit, orange citrus. Sweet agave passing through, and not all oak with the 10 yr aging. Taste has a sweetness with alcohol (but not excessive for a 110 proof), caramel, vanilla, raisen/apricot. orange citrus. Amazing!!

Agave Affair

Caramel apple, green apple, bourbon and wood. Smooth.

Dry chocolate and then barrel flavor. Very pleasant and soft, no alcohol burn just smooth

bottle number 267 of 288 The full roasted agave flavor shines through despite the long barrel aging. A bright and brilliant mix of orange, currants, caramel and a baked like sweetness of apricots from a pie. A stunningly intoxicating aroma that I could just breathe in … endlessly. Incredible!

Owned a couple of these over the past 20 years. This is a terrific bottle for XA enthusiasts. Nose has deep notes of almond, slight vanilla. Smooth across the front, slight caramel mixed with agave. More of the same notes on the back end. Too much aging for my taste, but XA drinkers will love. Unfortunately, unable to recall what I paid, but I know it wasn’t cheap!

Way too much barrel aging for me, personally, overwhelms the tequila, but clearly an exceptional and well made example of being exactly what it is supposed to be. If Extra Anejo is your thing, but it.

It’s a whiskey lovers tequila. It is heavy on vanilla and caramel, with some earthy spice. Agave is there, but it blends into the sweetness. I’m a whiskey lover and adore this bottle. It’s not what I would call ‘traditionally’ perfect, but it’s an excellent bottle.

This is my all time favorite and only score it 97 because I have never given anything in life a perfect score. This is genuinely a slow sipping slice of heaven. Señor Orendain has crafted a barrel strength Tequila for the ages. It is additive free and it's Carmel overtones occupy the majority of my taste buds with a heavy Agave character and a taste of honey. I would choose an evening sipping this over anything that wasn't a night of wild passion with Heather Graham. if you can get some, do not miss out.

Nice sweet agave for an extra Anejo. When I did a tasting at el Murcielago Tequileria in Monterey, MX, Arette extra Anejo was a stand out for the way it expressed the fruit. Good bit of jalapeño, bell pepper and oiliness of oak in the nose, light bodied entry, orange and citrus spice in finish along with vanilla, apricot, chocolate. At $100+, it is still a great value and lot of nuanced complexity.

Warm orange oil, oak silkiness long finish. No overflash Of pepper/heat.

Smooth Tequila. Caramel/Vanilla Taste finish is a bit on the spice side

I love this one. You can really tell it’s a lowland despite the heavy oaking; it’s got lots of vanilla, caramel, dark chocolate and orange, but also a very unique mushroom flavour which I have yet to find anywhere else. Too bad it’s so expensive or I’d drink it all the time.

Just kinda there...nothing necessarily remarkable. Fairly smooth but odd aroma and harsh finish. Then again I am new to Tequila and my favorite so far is Dos Artes Especial...that said I have had a few others that I have liked more.

They make a 55% that cannot be purchased in the States, it’s made in very limited batches and not every year. I have a bottle #55 of 125, and yes this is validated by the family of the Distillery. This is a very fine example a true sipping tequila, and not just with anyone, but for someone who appreciates the craft. The final roll of the back of the tongue is what separates this from everything else. Do not ruin this with a slice of pear, orange etc, keep it as neat as possible and enjoy.
