Arette Blanco
“After bottle opening a faint smell of acetaldehyde that disappeared in a few days. Quite pleasant in the nose, tastes sweet with minerals but some agave is greatly missing here. I like the Arette reposado more because it has more character compared to this one.”
More info →“Bottled: 21-IX-15, Bottle No. 02909 Aroma: Bright ripe and sweet garden fruits, apples, pears even with a hint of banana. Clean destillate with no faults. Palate: Very smooth and sweet agave. Juicy, alcohol at first almost not detectable. Very clean. Finish: Long with fruity sweetness on the tongue. Hope there is no added sugar. Conclusion: A very mild and mellow, sweet and smooth spirit with fruits and agave on the forefront. No smoke or alcohol. Obviously made for neat use. Perhaps a bit too flat. Some minerality and terroir is missing here. Still a decent value. What’s annoying is the wax above the stopper which is very hard to remove. Need to take care that no wax is getting into the glass. Update: I’ve made a couple of cocktails with this one and have to say I’m positively surprised how good it works. It adds a noticeable kick of fruity agave and earthy mineralisation which I didn’t recognise neat. Very good! ”

Cuervo Tradicional Blanco
“Hard to beat for the price. So far my favorite blanco in cocktails. Earthy, even faint smoke and cooked agave. Of course, not a sipper. Cuervo recommend to store it in the freezer.”
