NOM 1416 | From memory: I recall citrus punch with raw agave flavor and pepperiness. Easy to enjoy. I brung this back from Mexico

I ordered this from a New York based company right as Covid locked the world down. I enjoyed the one I brung back from Mexico more than this one. Perhaps the lower abv had a part in my enjoyment. Citrusy and grassy with more peppery bite.

NOM 1416 | A little flat for my liking, it’s got agave going on but I’m left waiting for fireworks that never happen.

NOM 1513 | NOM 1513. Odd sharp medicinal taste of bananas/coconut?... It's new, different and ok...Started to enjoy this more on my second sitting!?! Tastes a bit like casa dragones but not as good.

Bought this one for the cool bottle, surprisingly a really nice blanco. Nice viscosity, pleasant finish. Sip worthy.

NOM 1513 | Leans sweet and smooth on the nose and the palate but generally non-descript…. Silky mouthfeel. Not getting a distinct flavor. Light alcohol and mildly astringent. Finish is a bit chemical. Not awful and reasonably priced but not something I’d look for.

NOM 1416 | Flower, Fruit, umm… Banana?

Aroma is very alcoholic; a hint of caramel?? Flavour is slightly sweet; cooked agave, pear and a bit of pepper. Medium finish.

NOM 1513 | NOM 1513. Mild sweet aroma. Sweet fruity/tropical flavor. Noticeable burning sensation. Why is my tongue numb after two glasses? Leaves a chemical/bitter aftertaste about 15 mins after drinking. Nice flat black bottle with a scorpion on it. I think I would drink this again. Unseasonably mild Central PA fall day. Wife and daughter just got back from cheerleading practice. Now I'm watching The Simpsons with the family. My wife just came and sat on my lap so I will probably associate this with good memories. :)

NOM 1513 | NOM 1513. Bought this off a friend who can't drink anymore. Will have been open awhile as only half of bottle left. Very strong aroma of Bananas and no Agave at all. Has quite a burn to it which spoils the drink and leaves the tongue slightly tingling.

Something almost tropical on the nose - like fresh cut plantains, pineapple with a touch of Meyer lemon and a spicy hint of star fruit on the finish.

Regular tequila but there are way better options out there. The first aroma is of banana. I would not recomend it.

Somewhat dry and minty, borderline sipper with some sharp edges that need polishing, specially the aroma profile

Alacrán Tequila – Does the Scorpion Have a Bitter Sting?

All around Mexico City, tucked among the usual tequila fare, we’ve seen a new contender – Alacrán tequila. The brand is based here, which explains its ubiquity, but it has been making its way far and wide, and we were curious to find out what was in its m
