Tasted 2 oz from a Chisholm Trail tequila Jarrito. The nose is very pleasant with caramel and earth. I get chocolate a long with toffee. Picking up dried fruits. In the tongue, the agave that was missing on the nose is there. I get caramel and molasses. Some black pepper as well as cider notes. Further sips give me butterscotch. The finish is good yet a little short. I like this one maybe slightly less than the rested Stout but would still highly recommend it.

Nose: vegetal / earthy / beer hops-barley/cinnamon/ agave sweet/ butter / herbal/ bell pepper/ lemongrass/ hay / tea / sage / clove / maple/ hints of chocolate Taste: pepper/ agave sweet / earth / butter / beer/ hint of banana/ melon/ orange peel/ lime / bell pepper / hay / tea / sage / clove / musty / maple/ touch of cream soda Finish : nearly thin as water but somehow still providing a clean rain water like taste with sweetness that is immediately overcome with a beer like taste. The lingering sweetness is nice but is short lived because the bitter ‘beer’ like taste overwhelms the rest of the experience. This barrel rested reposado tastes like barley wine on the nose, with lingering bitterness at the finish. I barely recommend this if you don’t like beer. If you like beer this could be your go to sipper. It’s not for me but I tried to be kind on the rankings knowing.

Unique sweet and earthy aroma with caramel, baking spice, earth, and a bit musty. The flavors get a higher score for me, adding some gingerbread and molasses notes. Aged in ex-barleywine beer barrels this manages to be both an atypical profile and yet not too far off the reservation. If you’re in the mood for something a little different, it’s worth a try.

LOTE 01 BOTTLE #16 This was a nice experiment. Definitely different than the original repo. Chocolate and carmel on the nose. Taste still has agave. I swear I can taste beer notes. I do not like Barley wine but this pairs very nicely.

Nose: Toffee, mystery, dried fruits, caramel candy reminds me of those hard caramel candies brand werthers, also get some aromas of those tootsie caramel apple lollipop, bread cookie like aromas, fig, dry raisins, cooked agave is muted a bit on the nose , affy tapple caramel apple aroma, toasty aromas, molasses and port like aroma slightly, honey Taste: I kept going back and taking sips and every sip reminded my of a tootsie roll, molasses, caramel, toffee, finishes dry, slight bitterness at the end with some slight best in the end as well, the agave is more present on the taste than the aroma, toasty cracker like finish as well Ok not something I would pick up or buy again
