tasting as part of a high proof blinds with agave swappers june 2026 Torrente hp blanco at 50 abv Nose: Green, vegetal, some anise, yeasty, brine Palate: Better than nose with some sweet agave Finish: Sweet agave, nice Let this one open!
Tasted blind for Agavos Nose has a earthy wood note that is like being in the woods in the fall. Aromas of agave, soil, green pepper, grapefruit, mint, milk, dried leaves, honey and lilac. Taste is a bit brighter and cleaner than the nose. Notes of cooked agave, lime, pepper, wet soil, minerals, fresh cut banana pepper, mint, citrus peel, ginger and honey. This has a nice viscosity that coats the mouth nicely. Has a nice warm finish with fading notes of cayenne, spearmint and agave.
My favorite of the lineup, this blanco puts a kick in it with higher proof, creamy palate, higher abv brings out the flavor out more.
Aroma: strong minerality, grassy and fresh raw agave Flavor: peppery making the heat in the agave flourish. It has some a bit of salt flavor and a touch of mint Finish: heat with agave flavors left on the pallet
Soft aroma notes of raw agave, lemongrass and mint Flavor is hot starting with white pepper, mint and cinnamon. Flavor is long and hot which slowly dissipates over time.
Lote 2, bottled on 01-10-2025, tasted on 6-12-26. Aroma: cooked agave with a hint of sweetness, light acidity, hint of earthiness, hint of mint, sweet & sour balance, hint of agave fiber. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, agave note is sweeter on the palate, good sweet & sour balance, hay. Finish is medium to long, cooked agave with a hint of earthiness and a hint of agave fiber persists.
The first sip hits with raw agave, wet earth, and cracked black pepper it’s clean but chaotic, like it’s pulling you straight into the soil. Mid-palate shifts fast: cooked agave, roasted sweet potato, citrus peel, and a sharp herbal bite of sage and green peppercorn. The minerality isn’t subtle, it’s structural, like the land itself is in the glass. Then it breaks free again! The finish runs long and super wild white pepper heat, limestone dust, zest, and faint smoke but it doesn’t just fade. It feels like an agave field dream pulling you under, wrapping you in warm soil and night air, like a lover grabbing you close and sinking you back into the earth! In DEEP love with the higher proof, it really brings out the best of the juice! Unreal experience. Beautifully unrestrained. Nothing else like it.
Nose: Intense agave, orange peel, cinnamon. Taste: Sweet agave, minerality, pepper, herbs. Finish: Thick mouthfeel. Long citrus and pepper. Solid 90. Could’ve been a 92, but that $100 price tag drops the value score to an 8 at best.
Really nice high proof en Los aromas siento agave, pimienta, vegetal, tierra, frutoso como uvas y minerals en el paladar se siente el poder y el agave y el dulce del agave los minerales y grama Me gustó bastante
