By far my favorite from the Mundial line up. Great balance between agave and bourbon notes! So easy to drink!
Nose: Sweet aroma including agave, caramel, chocolate, sweet melon, pineapple Palate: Very soft oak presence for an XA.. El Tesoro is really showcasing the agave profile in this extra añejo expression leading to a wonderful balance. Think vanilla, caramel, cooked agave, crème brûlée, and a touch vegetal. Finish: Clean and lingering. A lot of minerality and raw agave. Overall a wonderful expression of an XA. A true enthusiast extra añejo showcasing the original agave spirit and not overdoing the barrel influence. Quality bottle, only downside being recent price increases. Batch: A-019
Nose The aroma opens with a subtle hint of cooked agave, layered with rich notes of caramel, vanilla, and cinnamon. There’s a woody oak presence, complemented by cherry and a general fruity sweetness. Palate On the palate, cooked agave takes center stage, balanced by smooth caramel, vanilla, and cinnamon. Oak adds depth, while cherry shines through, with a lighter fruity undertone. Finish The finish lingers with warming oak and cinnamon, fading into subtle cherry and vanilla, leaving a soft, caramel sweet aftertaste. For me, it was too fruity, and the price point lowered my score. If you’re into fruit flavors, then you’ll probably enjoy this one. I personally wouldn’t buy this bottle again due to the high price point but would gladly drink it if I saw it at a bar.

Tequila's success has created an enormous strain, imperiling the health and viability of the blue Weber agave on which tequila depends, as well as the farmers who grow it.
Lou cracks open one of the most rare and cherished tequilas made. Watch as he goes nuts tasting it.
In a "You Can't Take It With You" episode, Lou opens up a 70th Anniversary bottle of El Tesoro de Don Felipe Extra Añejo.
The first notes are agave and a bit of vanilla with oak and some pepper and cloves. The taste is oak, vanilla, cooked agave, black pepper and some earthiness. Has a nice finish but doesn’t linger long with some vegetal and vanilla, and oak tannins that linger the longest. Overall: 83 because it has a nice balance of agave with some interesting barrel notes!
