Aroma: Cooked agave, pepper, minerality, cinnamon, floral, and a hint of citrus. Flavor: Sweet cooked agave, cinnamon, minerality, butter, citrus, honey, and a subtle peppery note. This blanco is incredibly complex and gets even better with each sip. They absolutely crushed it with this bottle!

Aroma - I was expecting a lot of agave but this is next level. Cooked agave, asparagus, bell pepper, crushed red pepper, minerality, sweet cooked agave, cinnamon, nutmeg, floral, with a hint of orange zest. I don’t know how so much is packed into the aroma but this is so complex. Flavor - sweet cooked agave, cinnamon, minerality, asparagus, orange zest, pop of lemon, honey, crushed red pepper, it’s such a good combination of savory and sweet. Each sip give me more cooked agave. The texture is so viscous and thick. At 45.7% you get a nice warmth but there’s very little burn. This bottle is retailing for $110 and even though it’s incredible that is one of the most expensive blancos on the market and for that it’s not getting the highest marks if we were to just rate on merit if the liquid. Nevertheless this is an exceptional blanco and everything you look for in a well crafted tequila.

I loved the 2013 version (super heavy cinnamon), and the 2018 version (some cinnamon with black pepper), but this 2020 is the best of them all. I'm blown away. This is a super complex special treat that contains absolutely everything I love about a tequila agave spirit. Cinnamon, earth, black pepper, cooked agave, gentle funky lactic roundness, licorice, grass, olive, brine, all wrapped up in a long happy finish. It's got a thick mouthfeel that so elegantly and respectfully sits on your tongue. I don't know what kind of deal with the devil was struck by Enrique Fonseca to make this, or maybe he's an alien and he is tapping into powers we don't yet comprehend, but it's absolutely incredible. One of the best ever.

This 2020 is seriously delicious. The 2013 is one of the GOATs, 2018 was incredible, and I think I’d put the 2020 just above 2018, but this isn’t meant to be compared to others, it’s meant to be celebrated for what it is on its own and on its own, it’s an amazing blanco. Glass: Glencairn Nose: Lime, minerality, pepper, earth, olive, hay, grass, salt Palate: Fruity, herbal, pepper, limestone Finish: Herbal, minerality, citrus, brine, faint cinnamon In done ways, this release echoes the 2018 edition, but it’s evolved and made it's own way with Valley agaves this time. The lactic note has toned down significantly, and cinnamon takes a step back. In contrast, the minerality is a bit more pronounced, as is the citrus. The herbal notes remain steady, but overall, this version leans more into those crisp mineral and citrus touches.
