Woooo!! This is something! Super strong and fun! Aroma is the best part. Deep dark barrel with some agave chilling in the background. The barrel says “Merry Christmas“! Nutmeg, spice, clove then fades into brown sugar. The taste is exuberant! It lets you know it’s there. Sweetness followed by some bitter fruit. I don’t know if I like it or hate it. But it’s strong in flavor and announces its presence with gusto! Finish is good and dances between the sweetness and bitterness of the flavor. It’s quite nice.

Wood, leather, and faint, agave aroma. Flavor is cinnamon spice, hot. It finishes with spiced cider and a little tingly astringent.

Tasted blind with AMM: Very nice apricot and cherry nose. Flavors have a little more bite with some pine, leather, and tobacco notes. This has a dry short finish.

This reposado has a light, barrel-like flavor with some fruit and cinnamon notes. It has a bit of an alcohol presence in the finish that lingers. Overall, for the price, I think it’s a great starter tequila or for cocktails.

It’s not exactly an aficionados’ sipper, but it’s not the worst-tasting blanco either. It meets all the criteria of a solid blanco. For a clean, budget-friendly option for mixing cocktails, I think it works.
