Nose: very easy going, with oak and bright cherry. Some dried raisins and vanilla Palate: bit of agave, cherries, oak and cinnamon

Very cherry-heavy on the nose and palate. Overpowers the agave and could only taste cherry and some slight oak and cinnamon. Personally, I wouldn’t buy another bottle. If you enjoy aged expressions and dried fruit notes, then I think you’ll enjoy this bottle.

Sampled at Total Wine There must be something magical about French Oak barrels because I really enjoy every spirit that is aged in them, whether it's tequila, rum, or whisk(e)y. And yet, the barrel influence does not overwhelm the agave. You absolutely know this is tequila, just a tequila mixed with butterscotch and caramel. Even my wife, who prefers bourbon, really liked it and wants me to purchase it soon.

Agave is overpowered in every way and I don’t believe this isn’t cut with additives.

nose of oak, butterscotch, dried fruit, cognac. rich, beautiful nose. the agave is not lost. palate the agave shines even more. well balanced and easy drinking. would benefit, imo, from a touch higher proof but its delicate and delicious as is. finish is brief but satisfying.

Tastes a lot like Casa Noble Anejo. If that's your thing this is for you.

Aroma: Caramel and barrel spice lead the way, with cooked agave still coming through underneath. Really inviting nose that leans into the barrel without losing the agave. Palate: Caramel up front, followed by cooked agave and baking spice. There’s a hint of vanilla and dried fruit that adds some nice layered sweetness and depth. Finish: Long, clean finish with oaky warmth and a lingering sweetness that sticks around in a good way. Overall Impression: Beautiful nose and really nice layered complexity on the palate. Another fantastic aged expression from El Ateo. Super pumped I was able to pick this up at El Búho.
