“Nose is equal weights of minerality, citrus, balanced green and cooked agave, slight barrel notes like vanilla and cinnamon, floral. Enters the palate with barrel softness, rich toasted agave, velvet mouthfeel. Moves to clementines on mixed endive, anise and green melon. Finish starts with a hint of brine, agave and citrus and green stays at the top. Mid- to late finish a little cooked squash and watermelon appears. Finish lingers long with cooked agave, cooked sweet squash, melon and tame barrel spices. $59 kicks up the value.”

“Nose has balanced sweet and savory notes: agave, vanilla, barrel spice, fruit and alcohol. Palate leads with barrel and vanilla sweetness, caramel notes, some agave. Finish fades too fast. All in all, totally sippable, definitely a top mixer. At $35 it’s a cocktail hero.”

“Nose is a little grassy, sweet warm hay, barrel sweetness, a little astringent note that fades with time in the glass. Early palate is leathery spice, slightly smoky, agave, some creamy vanilla, maybe a hint of oak tannin late. Finish comes in quick with sweet vanilla and fades just as quickly. At $45, worth a try. Great in a cocktail, maybe with your cigar. Your mileage may vary.”

“Nose is butterscotch, vanilla, dark fruit, heavily roasted agave, barrel notes. Sip starts with a touch of anise baking spice, rolls into vanilla and cinnamon, green herbal notes, viscous mouthfeel, pepper and mint tingle, more baking spices, agave dripping with honey. Soft and rounded flavors. Off the charts complexity. Finishes is long with sweet agave and barrel notes. Paid $74 for a dusty treasure.”

“Blanco presents a hint of color. Nose is balanced between green agave and cooked agave forward, stone fruit, peaches and pears. Palate sips warm but not hot at 100 proof, soft agave, fleshy stone fruit, floral. Creamy wine notes, savory hints in late palate. Long finish keeps the heavy, creamy agave and vanilla. More floral on the late finish. Hard to keep something left in the bottle! Complex and high proof makes $82 more of a value.”

“Complex nose. Starts citrusy, but fades with time in the glass and becomes a punch of agave, dark grass, brine, a touch of pepper and earthy petrichor, spicy and savory. Early palate is cooked agave forward, touch of pepper and sweet citrus into sweet green eucalyptus and fresh herbs, heavy mouthfeel. As layered and as complex as the nose. Finish keeps the agave, late finish presents hints of mineral and brine. Sadly, the finish quickly drops but pleasant agave note lingers a long time at a low level in the background. ”

“Nose is toasted marshmallow, charred sweet oak, a mysterious minerality peeks out, agave arrives in time. Early palate is oak, vanilla, butterscotch, agave. Barrel heavy, but agave still shows. Sips delicate and light but also creamy. Has a lingering, soft finish full of roasted agave with a hint of green. Nothing that screams additives. $100-$125”

“NOM 1123 Nose is pleasant, soft agave, champagne grapes, some minerality bordering on chalky limestone, berries, buttery On the palate, soft, buttery mouthfeel, no alcohol bite, delicate, champagne grapes linger and become white wine, toasted agave, pepper and vanilla. Late palate reveals peppery green vegetation and earthiness. Long finish starts drying and then becomes mouth watering. 40%, Mexico purchase, ~$135 ”
