“More whiskey than agave on the nose. The agave becomes more evident upon tasting. Nice mellow burn on the sip. Clear caramel color. ”

“Light golden in color. A nose of sweet cooked agave, oak and vanilla. Light undertones of citrus. Taste strongly of cooked agave. Nice silky texture. Great traditional anejo!”

“Great nose of cooked agave, butterscotch, wood and a touch of vanilla. Cooked agave flavor with some sour barrel influance. A long balanced taste with surprisingly little bite for a 46% abv. I personally enjoy Fotaleza's standard reposado more.”

“This sherry cask aged anejo opens with an equal scent of cooked agave and barrel spice whisky. There is also a hint of honey on the nose. When tasted, the agave is present along with a nutty oak flavor followed by bourbon and honey undertones. I feel that tequila traditionalist will focus on the sherry/bourbon profile. Personally, I prefer using the sherry barrel aging to influence the taste as opposed to additives.”

“Cake batter forward on the nose. No agave evident in the smell. Vanilla and pepper flavor overpowers the agave. It's a nice drink, it's just not traditional agave forward tequila.”

“Soft nose with hints of vanilla and agave and caramel with a taste that matches the nose, although with less subtlety. Nice clear golden color (light for an EA). Medium finish. Some initial ethonal taste and burn. I wanted to appreciate this tequila but there are many other options out there that re better and don't break the bank. Even without the low score for value, this tequila is not a "list topper".”

“The nose is amazing. Strong agave, no alcohol or chemical. Slight oak with understated sweet botanicals. Beautiful color in the glass with well defined, quick legs. The taste is equally impressive with natural, sweet agave flavor accentuated with a touch of light oak.The taste is long, impressive and equal over the tongue. ”

“Smells like agave and burnt rubber. Taste is fairly neutral and slightly sweet. The neutrality and price make this my "go to" mixer tequila for Margaritas. Never a sipper or a shooter though.”

“Caramel nose with oaky cooked agave taste. I think I would prefer to drink this EA as a base for mixed drinks instead of a "sipper".”
