“Very smooth. Flavor was subtle without being ultra sweet, but based on what I know about certain repos and anejos it makes me think they might have added something to aid the smoothness or flavor.”

“PHENOMENAL. Smooth and flavorful yet subtle as hell. The kind of tequila a whiskey sommelier would enjoy drinking to discover its complexity. It’s like a perfect summer evening in a glass. Starts with notes of earthy grass at the front, notes of olives and even Parmesan cheese at the end. Like a beautiful evening eating a light Mediterranean dinner that makes you feel refreshed upon finishing. One of the finest tequilas I’ve ever had the pleasure of drinking. Do NOT hesitate to grab a bottle if it’s available.”

“A great cocktail tequila. Better than 1800, Cuervo tradicional, Espolon, etc. Smooth but with enough flavor that it’s rewarding as a sipping spirit.”

“Fantastic. Smooth and PACKED with flavor. Very vegetal but not bitter or unpleasant. One of the best I’ve had.”

“Smooth with an unexpected but enjoyable grassy flavor note front and center. Could be EXCELLENT in a light summer cocktail, in the same vein as a cucumber & lime vodka drink.”

“Good budget tequila. Slight smell of pepper, smooth, but slightly harsh alcohol taste on the finish.”

“Probably the first blanco I really liked when I first started expanding my range in the tequila world. I enjoy how it has bite on the front but is smooth in the finish. Was my go-to cocktail and shooting tequila for many years, but sipping it plain is an exercise in futility. It’s just not intended to be drank that way but for $19 a bottle, that’s ok.”

“Clean, smooth taste. Notes of pepper and citrus but subtlety is the name of the game here. Some people view that as a negative but there’s nothing wrong with a spirit that can stay neutral in a cocktail but reveal its flavors when taken straight.”

“Imagine regular Patrón, with slightly more forward flavors of vanilla, but with a bizarre level of unpleasant bitterness in the finish. Might be from the oak barrels it’s aged in, but finishing on a bitter note doesn’t make me want to take another sip if drinking straight. It seems better suited for cocktail mixing but at this price point, that feels like a cop out. Was VERY disappointed overall. First Patrón product in my cabinet that I feel was a bad buy. Will not be restocking it once my bottle is empty.”

“The tequila that regular Patrón should be. Just as smooth (despite a higher proof) but with more pronounced flavor. Unfortunately still suffers from Patrón’s inflated hype and marketing budget and is somewhat overpriced. If you see this on sale, don’t hesitate to pick some up.”

“I really enjoy Patrón for what it is. Smooth with little burn, good flavor that’s forward if you’re sipping it neat but steps back if you’re making a cocktail. A little overhyped and over marketed. But there’s something to be said for smoothness and it’s one of the ones I always have in the cabinet purely due to its consistency.”
