NOM 1602 38% Mexico version bought in Chihuahua for a party. Fake artifical smell. Vanilla and artifical sweetner. Would not recognize this as tequila from the taste. Some vanilla and oak and pepper. Light agave. Absolute bargin in Mexico for $25 USD (450 pesos) for a 1.75L bottle and not bad for mixing.

NOM 1602 | Bottle: L6DRR240620M Appearance: Medium hay Nose: Cooked agave, vanilla, oak, honey, butter, alcohol, barrel spice, caramel, yeast/dough, cider, and almond…not the worst use of additives, fairly pleasant Palate: Oak, whiskey, barrel spice, alcohol, astringent, caramel, vanilla almond milk, fake banana/fake fruit, medicinal, yeast/dough, cinnamon candy, and solvent…someone spilled paint thinner in my tequila Finish: Oak, solvent, and acetone…nail polish remover aged in an oak barrel Overall: Diffuser, acid-thermal hydrolysis, and additives…res ipsa loquitur.

This was purchased and tasted a long while ago. The price of purchase back then was $220 pesos…

Light amber in glass. Initial aroma of cotton candy and a hint of vanilla. Favor of caramel and something else sweet. Hardly any finish. I'm guessing diffuser and additives.

NOM 1602 | Lots of astringency, a little bit of hay/straw, then an artificial cake like vanilla. The nose is probably the best aspect of this pour, and that’s not saying much; it’s all downhill from there.

Tasted at Tanger Whiskey Fest. NOM 1602 Barrel spice, alcohol, vanilla on the nose. Same on the flavor with a solvent and astringent aftertaste. Pass

NOM 1602 | Light body, might be good for cocktails.

  • 62 Rating

NOM 1590 | Really didn’t make much of an impression, seems like it is trying to be non offensive and wound up being nothing at all.

Mexico version. Understated aroma. The flavor was far too sweet for my taste. There was a bit of a chemical bite to the finish. Made a mistake. This should never have been on my wish list.

NOM 1420 | Bottle from 2011. Big black pepper right on entry. After a couple of minutes in the glass it has a solvent nose, which I would consider a defect. The jewel top closure is the best thing about this bottle at the moment.

It doesn't taste bad, it just doesn't taste at all. Completely unremarkable!

So far the best I've ever had for the money. About $15 in Mexico

Very chemically and heavy on the minerality. Too harsh for my taste.

Disclaimer: I am not an aficionado, i am an enjoyer of tequila so take my review with a grain of lime salt. Don Ramon reposado is a highly inoffensive, easily accessible tequila to purchase and consume, which helps since its overall not bad, the mouth feel (pause) does not burn but isnt very complex, it goes down well enough, my only issue with it is for a lower cost you can get for something such as "Batanga" or for the same price "Arette." This is an alright tequila to pound shots with, or make cocktails for guests that really dont like the flavor of alcohol. Not a solid sipper nor for any high quality cocktail. (My rating is 57 but dont take this as a low score, rather scored as an average tequila that has nothing to write home about.)

At Mexican Fiesta. Not bad. A little hot at the back but some nice cinnamon flavors through out.

Had at Mexican Fiesta in 2026. A bit harsh. Agave flavor with some vanilla. Boozy hot.

NOM 1629 | Lots and lots of alcohol on the nose and palate. Not much flavor other than some vanilla and black paper. This tastes adulterated. I didn’t have high expectations for this but at least I can add it to my profile.

NOM 1417 | $50 Ontario

Oak and black pepper in the aroma. Taste is sweet cakey with a baby oil on the tongue and back of the mouth. Maybe good for mixed drinks?

NOM 1602 | Way too big of a chemical flavor for me. I wish they placed half the effort in the juice as they did the bottle presentation

NOM 1602 | On the nose it was pretty much alcohol. On the palette it was a buttery alcohol and a very hot finish. It wasn’t unpleasant to drink, but I wouldn’t call it good either. It’s better than others in its price range.
