This is a solid Anejo, great value for your money. Dried fruit, vanilla, baking spice, nice finish

Sweet, vanilla, finish is peppery. What you’d expect from a good añejo.

All the notes you would expect in an anejo with whiskey notes and floral aroma. Pleasant but not overly impressive.

Aroma: Strong oaky presence (wonder if they used a heavy or full heavy char), sweet notes: vanilla, caramel, molasses, maple syrup. Dried fruits/raisins. Light agave. Flavor: Whiskey, barrel spice, butter (texture), dates (that was first time I detect that fruit flavor on a tequila, really liked that!). Chocolate and nutty notes in the profile. Not a lot of agave, medium finish/feel, bourbon experience that it might be a great starter for whiskey lovers. Great price!

whiskey, barrel spice, stone fruit up front on aroma. agave comes in a bit later. vanilla and sharp citrus follow in behind. whiskey soaked oak, stone fruit with a brightness of citrus and mild heat balance it out on the flavor. dark, overripe cherry develops on a medium+ finish. maybe some mild baking soda comes through late on aftertaste. would not consider it agave forward, but an interesting sipper, especially at a $35-39 price point. again, the plastic/wax seal around synthetic cork is annoying. still a bottle worth having

Deep amber color. A little medicinal upfront on the nose, gives way to dark cherry, candied fruit. Not a lot of agave. Sweet upon entry, cuts a bit thin and transitions to oak, spices and pepper. Quick finish.

Same grievance as the other expressions, this just isn’t agave forward! Let me say this anejo smells fucking AMAZING, makes you want to dive right in and swim around. I taste bourbon from start to finish, a very yummy bourbon but unfortunately it’s not kept it’s pedigree from agave. Good finish that would pair nicely with a cigar, give it a whirl if you have the $.

Nice amber color in the glass. Aroma starts with the charred oak and then some cooked agave. Those characteristics carry into the flavor. Smooth, long finish. A nice sipping alternative to bourbon or brandy. I should mention that I am a bourbon drinker.

Nose came in waves. 1st wave was heavy bourbon. Next wave was flowers, dried fruit and agave. 3rd was was baking spices, vanilla and fresh tropicals with a fading bourbon presence. Taste of vanilla, dark cherry, and bitter sweet chocolate. Followed by almonds, oak and heat. And a flavor that reminds me of grandma’s “hope chest”. Hmmm. Revision #3: 2/22/2019 I still find a slightly off taste in the finish. Almost a varnish like note.

Picked this up in Cabo late in 2017. Nothing special the añejo is very bourbon forward on the nose and the palate. Nothing offensive but there are a lot of products in the market that taste similar.

Wood, vanella, , subtle cooked agave, refreshing, this tequila consistency is very insipid, not oily. Very unique. Wish was cheaper. Good purchase either way

Both American and French Oak provide deep flavors and at $40ish, it’s a tremendous value.

Not a bad anejo, if the price was reasonable at a liquor store I would buy for a sharing occasion.

Lots of nuttiness and dark chocolate from the barrel. Agave looses some of its intensity though. Definitely smoother than the blanco.

Whiskey notes in the aromas and taste. Oak and a bit of cooked agave. It finishes sweet and spicy.

Hint of agave covered up by oak with some caramel and finishes hot. Not a sipper for me.

A light golden color with nice legs in the glass. There’s not much aroma even after a few swirls. The flavor has minimal agave. What it does reflect is oakyness and whiskey overtones. This has a medium finish length and a bit of lip tingle if you let it linger. A nice product especially for folks who appreciate a nice whiskey.

The combo of new American and French oak is interesting. Has quite a bit of this clove/nutmeg/spice to it.
